Eligible non-Hospital Radiologists

• Radiologists who read non-hospital studies can exclude hospital studies.

• Must read >= 50% of studies using certified software.

• Must read for Medicare and/or Medicaid patients.

Eligible Hospital-based Radiologists

• Radiologists who only read hospital studies.

• Must read >= 50% of studies using certified software.

• Must read >= 10% hospital out-patient studies.

Approach to Meaningful Use

• Radiologists can use grants to subsidize the acquisition of certified software that meets their clinical needs.

Complete vs Modular Certification

Complete Certified EHR With a Complete Certified EHR, you only require one system to meet the Meaningful Use requirements.

Modular Certified EHR only meets a subset portion of the requirements. Providers must assemble a complete system from multiple vendors to qualify for incentive payments.

It is the radiologist’s responsibility to ensure EHR modules satisfies all requirements, so this approach is not recommended.
