The Dome of the Rock is located on a platform known as the Temple Mount. جبلin Jerusalem الهيكل

It was constructed on the site of the Second Jewish Temple, which was destroyed by the Romans

The Dome of the Rock was erected أقامت between 689 and 691 CE.

Yazid Ibn Salam from Jerusalem and Raja Ibn Haywah from Baysan constructed the building.

Abed al Malik ibn marwan, the Umayyad Caliph is the one who put the initial completion for the Dome in the year of 691 CE .

The building is a shrine for pilgrims and not a mosque for public worship.

The location of the Dome of the Rock was the site of the Islamic miracle of the Isra and Miraj.

The sacred rock that Mohammad ascended from it to the haven by the angel Gabriel is located in this place which later on was known as the Dome of the rock.

Muhammad prayed in this spot with Abraham, Moses, and Jesus.

Dome of the Rock is the holist spot in the earth.

Jews pray towards the Dome of the Rock and took it as their Qiblaa.

The location of the dome of the rock was believed as the site of the holy of holies . قدساألقداس

The stone is the site where Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac.

Before the construction of the dome their was a church called the Church of St. John by which Constantine's mother built it during the Byzantine Empire.

But, during the Islamic period their was a clearly inscriptions related to the true nature of the Christ.

It’s a building of rock taking the octagonal shape.

The outer side walls are made of porcelain الخزف and mirror the octagonal design. They each measure approximately (18 m) wide and (11 m) high.

Both the dome and the exterior walls contain many windows.

Above the circle there is the dome with 20 miters in Diameter .

It’s a huge peace of rock located below the dome in the center.

It has a 14m in width .

It has a 18m in length.

During the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent the exterior of the Dome was covered with Iznik tiles

later on king Husin of Jordan granted a donation of 8 million $ to build a golden dome

The interior of the dome is decorated with Mosaic and Marble

It contains Quranic inscriptions such as sura Yassen and al Isra

To strengthen the religious believe in the people’s hearts.

To house the Muslims from all the countries in a united place.

To inform the people that the holy places should be preserve.

To tell the nations that Mohamed was a truly prophet.
