The Virginia Baptist Women’s Chorale will be presenting a worship/concert at our church Saturday evening, April 20th, at 6:00pm. This esteemed group is celebrating its 37th concert season and is composed of women from across the state who have served as full-time or part-time Ministers of Music, instrumentalists, accompanists, choir leaders, denominational workers, or who are wives of Virginia Baptist church staff members. They are some of the finest Virginia Baptists have to offer. They will be rehearsing most of the afternoon on Saturday in our sanctuary. We will host a meal for them for dinner in the fellowship hall. Then at 6:00 pm, they will lead us in worship.
The weekends are a very busy times I know, but I hope all of our folks who are able will make an effort to be present to enjoy this fine group. Bring your neighbors and friends with you. It will be an evening to remember. The women travel at their own expense and many will have a lengthy drive traveling from Northern Virginia, Tidewater, Richmond and the other parts of our state. Let’s show them our support by our presence. It is an honor and privilege for us to host this concert.
Mark your calendars. We will also be hosting the Youth Choir from First Baptist Church Richmond on Sunday evening June 16. More details to come. Save the date!
The Hearts of Gold choir are busy preparing for the annual Festival of Praise in May. They will be serving as the service choir this Sunday, April 14, sharing a new hymn by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend, “Speak, O Lord.” (#280 in our Celebrating Grace Hymnal)
See you Sunday, Singing God’s song.

BTW (by the way) The Virginia Baptist Male Chorale will be at First Baptist Danville on Tuesday April 23 at 7:00 pm as part of our 2013 spring tour. This will be the concert closest to Abingdon this year.
