Presente progresivo
Presente Progresivo es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para expresar acciones que suceden en el mismo momento en que se está hablando
EJEMPLO I am speaking English. Yo estoy hablando inglés. You are reading a book. Tú estás leyendo un libro.
He is studying the lesson. Él está estudiando la lección.
She is buying a hat. Ella está comprando un sombrero.
Este tiempo verbal se construye utilizando como auxiliar el Presente Simple del modo indicativo del verbo TO BE y como verbo principal en infinitivo con la terminación ING

REGLAS
REGLA 1: los verdos terminados en y no se sustituyen por ing:
cry: crying
fly: flying
REGLA 2:
Los verbos terminados en consonante-vocal-consonante, duplicaran la ultima consonante:

seran sustituidos por ing, excepto el verbo be(be-being):
love-loving
hate-hating

Los verbos terminados en doble vocal solo se le agregara la terminacion ing:
see-seeing

consonante solo se le agregara la particula ing:

FORMAS DE EL PRESENTE PROGRESIVO
FORMA AFIRMATIVA
El Present Progressive es una forma verbal compuesta por el auxiliar TO BE, conjugado en función del sujeto de la frase, y por la forma de participio presente del verbo principal
I am reading the newspaper. He is having a shower. We are playing tennis.
2. FORMA INTERROGATIVA
Dado que el Present Progressive contiene el verbo TO BE como auxiliar, la forma interrogativa se obtiene invirtiendo el órden del auxiliar y del sujeto:
Are you reading the newspaper? Is he having a shower? Are they playing tennins?
3. FORMA NEGATIVA
La forma negativa del Present Progressive consiste en la forma negativa del verbo TO BE acompañada por el participio presente del verbo principal:
I’m not reading the newspaper. He isn’t having a shower. We aren’t playing tennis.
