2. History

  • Football in England dates back to at least the Middle Ages 3. First recorded game was in Derby, England in AD 217.

4. History Part Deux
The Cambridge Rules were the first set of known rules drawn up in 1848.
The Cambridge rules, if you couldnt tell by their name, were written at Trinity College in Cambridge.
The first international match took place in 1872 between England and Scotland, it ended in a 1-1 draw.

5. How to Play

  • Regularly played on a grassy field that is 120 yards long and 75 yards wide. 6. Centered on each endline is a goal which is 8 yards wide and 8 feet tall. 7. A team consists of 11 players (1 goalie and 10 outfield players) 8. Plays two continuous 45 minute periods. 9. Object of the game is to advance the ball forward and kick it in your opponents goal.

Club teams are the teams where the players make their money.
More famous clubs would be Manchester United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Liverpool, etc.

  • The World Cup is probably the most famous football tournament. 17. Takes place every four years in random countries. 18. Decides the best international team in the world from a field of 32 teams.

Happens every 4 years still.
