    Task 1: Test coupons

    Time: 4 hours

    Quantity: 3 specimens, either Single V-groove butt joint welds or

    fillet welds.

    One test plate coupon for butt weld shall consist of two (2)

    pieces, each 12mm in thickness,125mm width and 350mm inlength

    The second test plate coupon for fillet weld shall consist of two

    (2) pieces, 12mm x 100mm x 250mm and 12mm x 125mm x

    250mm

    The test coupon welded shall contain a stop / restart in thecentre 75mm of the cap pass.

    GMAW (MAG), (135) only is to be used for the fill and cap passes

    and the stop and restart shall take place only at the cap pass. A

    weave or the last pass on a multi-pass welds considered for the

    stop and restart.

    GMAW (MAG) is also qualified to be used for a root pass and as

    top and restart as above shall be applied for the root pass. FCAW

    or MCAW (136) shall not be used for making root passes

    The final test coupon shall be a pipe welding test consisting of

    two (2) pieces of 168,3 mm Outside Diameter x 10,9mm wall

    thickness (6Diameter SCH 80), 125mm length carbon steel pipe

    Task 2: Pressure vessel

    Time : 10 hours

    Size : Overall dimensional space, approximately 550mm x

    280mmx 350mm.

    Plate thickness: 10mm

    Pipe wall thickness 5,4mm, 88,9mm OD mm Pressure test maximum 1000psi (70 bar)

    Task 3:Aluminium structure

    Description : A partially enclosed structure of Aluminium, which

    shall be welded with TIG (141). Time : 2 hours

    Size : Overall dimensional space approximately 220mm x 220mm

    Task 4 4: Stainless Steel structure Description : A partially enclosed structure of stainless, which

    shall be welded with TIG (141).

    Time: 2 hours.

    Size: Overall dimensional space approximately 200mm x 150mm x

    120mm Stainless Steel plate/pipe material thickness 2mm

    All root passes of butt joints and corner joints shall be purged

    with Argon.
