December 2, 2018 First Sunday of Advent
Dear parishioners:
This Sunday is the Collection for the Retired Priests of the Archdiocese.
Please be generous to those who have worked so hard and for so many
years. Many of them, like Fr. Peter, Fr. Bob and Fr. Jude who help us are
still active in other parishes.
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is this weekend. It is the patronal
feast for all American Catholics and for the Archdiocese of Denver. We will
celebrate it on Friday evening only at 6 p.m. It will be a bilingual mass.
The Saturday evening mass is the mass of the Second Sunday of Advent.
The Archdiocese has asked all parishes to have a safety plan for the church. I
have asked the Pastoral Council to work on this. Spiritually, we have groups
gathering for the rosary on Tues., Wed. and Friday evenings. We are also going
to say the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel after every Sunday mass as soon
as we have them in the missalettes.
Classes resume this weekend for all parents and students. The materials in
English and Spanish are posted each week on the parish web site:
presentationdenver.org. We have a Confirmation project for the older students.
Keep working on your project!!!!
Families asking for infant baptism must make sure that godparents (padrinos) are married in the church and are confirmed. Parents must be registered in the
parish. Call Deacon Pablo for preparation class. Starting January, we will run one per month on the second Wednesday evening 6 p.m. Spanish; 7:30 p.m. in English. Call the parish office: 303-534-4882 x117 to register. Marriage preparation: please see us 8 months before your marriage.
Quinceaneras celebrations will be scheduled through the parish only. The girl and her escorts must be baptized and confirmed to do these celebrations. No
exceptions!! They also need to take a 4 class workshop at St. Joseph Church, located at 6th and Galapago offered by Endow. The Christmas food drive is underway! Help us replenish our food bank. Canned and dry food only!!! Congratulations! We earned almost $300 this month from the grocery cards. Lets double that is December! If every family (using the reloadable $10 gift card that you purchase from Presentation) bought $50 worth of groceries at King Soopers we would make almost $2000. Join Formed.org. You can register on our parish website. The books and films are free to all parishioners.
God bless you and your Families this fall.

PRAYER FOR HEALING
Lord Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of your Church, In your mercy come to the aid of your
people, burdened by the weight of sin and tribulation. Please heal the victims and those
suffering. Purify your Church of sin and scandal. Make her radiant in the Spirit of
your holiness. Bring good out of the evil that has been done. Guide her and your
shepherds in the ways of renewal. Mary, our loving Mother, pray for us. Walk with us.
Hold our hand through this valley of darkness. Through all this, lead us closer to the
Father through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
