LOCATION, EXTENSION AND LIMITS - ARAUCA

The Department of Arauca, is located in the northeast of the country, in the north of the region of Colombian Orinoco, located between the 06 º 02 '40 "and 07 º 06' 13" north latitude and 69 ° 25 `54 "and 72 º 22 '23" west longitude. It has an area of 23,818 km2 which represents 2.1% of the country. Bordered on the north by the Arauca River separating it from the Republic of Venezuela, on the east by the Republic of Venezuela, on the south by the rivers Meta and Casanare, separating it from the department of Vichada and Casanare, and the West with the department of Boyacá.
