Civil Engineering Dept. Since 2008
❖ The Department of Civil Engineering at U.V.P.C.E has emerged as a major icon
for Student admission. The main Factors behind this success are experienced
faculties and good infrastructure with well-maintained laboratories.
❖ Dr. P. J. Patel is Head of the Department of Civil Engineering from 2008 and he
constantly strives for the betterment of staff as well as students. He works
effortlessly to manage various curricular and extracurricular activities for the
department. About 24 well qualified faculty members are working in the
department highly expert in the different discipline of civil engineering.
❖ Department is well suited with Infrastructural facilities and Logistics to support
students. The institute supports various research schemes as well as testing
facilities to industry., as well as on the go , project management and supervision
along with Key Problem provided by the expert faculties.
❖ The Department of Civil Engineering offers a broad-based undergraduate B.Tech.
degree program. A dual-degree B. Tech.-M. Tech. program is also run in
Construction Project & Management. Postgraduate M. Tech. (admissions through
GATE/ Sponsorships) and Ph. D. (admissions through selections/ sponsorships).

Earthquake-resistant structures are
structures designed to withstand
earthquakes. While no structure can be
entirely immune to damage from
earthquakes, the goal of earthquake-
resistant construction is to erect
structures that fare better during
seismic activity than their conventional
counterparts.
