The EyeBall R1 system is manufctured by the ODF Optronics Ltd company of Israel with the specific intent of marketing a product able to render – in real time – the acquisition of covert / semi-covert intelligence during diverse operational scenarios.

The system is comprised of two audio / video sensors encapsulated in a rubber ball the size of a baseball, made of a particular polyurethane plastic totally impervious to any type of height drop and climatic conditions. The EyeBall can therefore be launched from land or air vehicles and can be thrown by hand or deployed in theatre by remote controlled vehicular ROVS. The EyeBall will resist drops from heights of over 50 meters with no problem whatsoever.

The system has video sensors inside capable of transmitting – in wireless mode, via radio frequency (protected) – color video in daytime mode and B&W in night vision mode. Audio sensors transmit all audio present in the area where the EyeBall is deployed.

The EyeBall is remotely controlled by radio transmission and will rotate on itself in a 360° radius, while giving the opportunity of manually controlling the rotation radius in any direction. The EyeBall will transmit in a range of several hundred meters to it’s dedicated monitor controller that has all commands and functions in one compact unit. The portable unit can be configured to transmit to a remote central control station that can be monitored by command.

The EyeBall R1 system is specifically developed to mitigate dangerous situations during sensible operations and permits to acquire a higher grade of safety without compromising the time-span requirements of the mission. Deployability is almost immediate and simplicity of use permits to operate the system with no hesitation or delay.

The EyeBall System may be employed also to acquire covert intelligence – many accessories available can complement the system and permit the use of the same during low intensity conflict operations and intelligence gathering “on the spot”.
