Sub-Sahara Africa bears the biggest burden of HIV. Followed by

Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Latin America

Sad to say: Tanzania has lost 7% of the population due to HIV and AIDS (source: CDC)

Sub-Saharan Africa is the most affected region, with 25.8 [24.0–28.7] million people living with HIV in 2014. Also sub-Saharan Africa accounts for almost 70% of the global total of new

HIV infections (source: WHO, 2014)

The QUESTION is, why Sub- Saharan African is the most affected region?

As a public health consultant, so many things need to be considered in dealing with this disease among Africa nations.

Protect your self from getting infected with HIV A. Abstinence B. Be faithful to

one uninfected person

C. Consistent and correct use of condoms

Condom use is the number 1 effective way of protecting yourself against HIV

PrEp which means pre exposure prophylaxis also offer protection. ( PrEP Is a new pill known as TRUVADA. An HIV negative person can protect himself from contracting HIV by taking the pill once a day. When taken properly, PrEp can reduce the risk of transmission by 90%
