DEFINITION OF LEASING

Financial Accounting Standard Board ( FASB 13 )Leasing is agreement for supply of capital goods for used in a specific period.

The Equipment Leasing Association ( ELA – UK )Leasing is a contract between the lessor to the lessee for rent an item directly. The ownership of goods is on the lessor, while lessee only has the right to used.

Based on the decision the minister of finance, leasing is a financing activity in the form of capital goods with or without the option for a certain period.
