DESCRIPTION OF THE COMMUNITY
The peasant community of Jicamarca is in the
Province of Huarochirí, District of San Antonio,
nowadays it is divided in autonomous branches. The
main sources of income for the local people are:
Trade (wholesale market)
Livestock farming, piggery and goat rearing (poultry
farming) Textile factories.
Population: 70,000 Habtants
Assisted Area:
The first contact started in 2012 when some
teachers and students living in the area
decided to offer business consultancy, and
courses about management. Since 2013 it has
been offered certificate programmes.

AIM:
Contribute to micro and small businesses with knowledge in Management,
Marketing, Finances, Customer Service, etc.
This can help them to formalise their businesses improving their income and
management in order to achieve a higher growth, development and promotion
in the community.
APPLIED STRATEGIES
Micro-entrepreneurs awareness in a formal finance
culture
Improve strategies to capture customers
Students involved in awareness: determine the content
of sessions
Motivate beneficiaries participation. (activation, house

75% belong to direct beneficiaries and 25%
indirect, results were successful.

Satisfaction was evaluated through surveys, the results indicated that 90% of people were
satisfied and formalised their SMEs.
Satisfaction Outcome
• Vallejo is present in the community.
• Nowadays we keep a direct relationship with the leaders and
entrepreneurs.
• Entrepreneurs achieved a new view to manage their business through a
better understanding about the business activity.
• New activities are scheduled in Jicamarca (Christmas - medical
campaigns) (12)
• It has reached neighbouring towns (Bolognesi and other branches)
