Colombia / 2017

It is an honor, for Los Olivos has

been chosen as the organizer of

this important event of the Funeral

Cooperative World Sector. We

would like to express our gratitude

to the Directors of the Global

Network of Funeral Mutuals and

Cooperatives, for this gesture of

confidence. We wish for each and

every one of you to participate, in

order to create a space of

interaction where we can share

best practises as well as successful

experiences.

We hope that this sharing will

bring for all of us, a greater

knowledge on how to face the new

market challenges as well as the

social situations that are affecting

our countries, particularly in

Colombia, where the cooperative

world needs to adapt to a post-

conflict model, in which we have

much to contribute.

Columbia, and in particular

Cartagena de Indias, offer us a

wonderful opportunity to enjoy the

best of the Caribbean and Latin

cultures in the midst of beautiful

landscapes, exotic cuisine, music,

as well as the joy that characterizes

us.

We welcome you with open arms,

and hope to have the opportunity to

share that time with you.

She’s Gertrude, a woman of many curves andsome extra kilos who’s not afraid to show bare-naked before the crowd. This beautifulsculpture realized by Fernando Botero was laid there in the year 2000. Part of the Columbian cuisine originated locally, and is founded on fried foods, rice, soups, and stews; there is also another side to it though which uses elements from other parts ofthe world, such as meats cooked over low heat and vegetables, accompanied by delicioussauces, the ensemble providing delectable and strong flavors, tasty textures and deeparomas.

Rosario Islands are an archipelago of 27 islands located about two hours by boat fromCartagena. The Capricious Caribbean Coral formation made these islands a privileged sitein nature being sheltered from the open sea, with an imperceptible swell.

In this succession of small islands, mangrove is the king of vegetation and within its whitesand beaches and coral formation, a sea of various shades going from blue to green isreflected, creating a comforting contrast to the eye and mind.
