    Legislations relating to security

    The Aviation & Maritime Security Act is a piece of United Kingdom legislation thatextended the Secretary of State's power to protect ships and planes within the UnitedKingdom This act is an updated continuation of older acts that acted in ta!ing steps toimprove security procedure to minimise effects of a security "reach or event

    Main idea of Aviation and Maritime Security Act $%% The programme "rings together the UKs maritime security regime and the various

    international and #uropean initiatives to provide a comprehensive protective security regimefor UK ships and ports

    The aim of maritime security is to detect and deter security threats and ta!e preventativemeasures against security incidents affecting ships or port facilities and to protect from harmpassengers( crews( ships and their cargoes( port facilities and the people who wor! and live inport areas

    Aviation Security The Aviation and Maritime Security Act allows the Secretary of State to give directions to any

    individual flying an aeroplane in the United Kingdom in order to protect an aerodrome Saidprotection may involve moving the aeroplane in a fashion that is advantageous to the defenceof the aerodrome Additionally( the act ma!es it explicitly illegal to intentionally commit anydamages to an aerodrome

    Maritime Security

    Security Procedures and Protocols in the Airport

    Screening and Searching

     All passengers travelling on the flight are searched "oth via screening

    and manual chec!s
