While not expected to be of professional quality, the folio should demonstrate a range of creative and technical skills relevant to the course(s) applied for. Interviews are an informal, friendly discussion about the applicant’s work, ambitions and interests. The interview panel consists of no more than two people who will ask questions relating to the Academy’s Selection Criteria.The interview panel seeks to identify potential students who are self-motivated and show initiative and the ability to successfully develop knowledge and skills in one of the disciplines offered at the Academy. AIE offers a range of certificate courses and holiday programs specifically for those who are in Year 10, 11 & 12. Our VET in Schools programs are nationally accredited Certificate II and III programs. High school students can access AIE’s practical, project-based training in game development and 3D animation at AIE or in school. These programs give students credit towards their Year 10, 11 and 12 studies. Our courses: Our certificate & short courses give students a head start in a dynamic industry. By completing a certificate II or III, you will gain foundation skills and knowledge to assist with further studies. They are a great way to start learning interactive entertainment skills, build up a portfolio or get a taste of what a career in game and film might be like. They are offered after hours and online.Our Work Experience Program is a great way for secondary school students in years 10 to 12 to learn about the interactive entertainment and digital industries. This 1 week program will show you a range of career possibilities and allow hands-on experience with the tools of the trade.None of our Certificate courses, Diploma or Advanced Diploma require prior knowledge and all courses are direct entry.For the diploma and advanced diploma courses, you are required to attend an interview and show us your portfolio. Interviews for full-time courses are informal and is a great opportunity demonstrate your interest, enthusiasm and potential to complete the course. Your portfolio helps us understand what skills and knowledge you currently have. Some diploma/advanced diploma courses will require the completion of pathway courses first, such as a certificate III or IV in the same course area.The eligibility requirement for most degree courses is a study score of at least 20 in VCE English (any) Units 3 & 4.
