Against the windBeside my dadBehind my brotherBeyond my momToward the bottomWithout much trouble
At the end of the trailWith my familySmiling.
The Titanic
On the sea
Across the ocean
Through the waves
After dusk
Below the stars
With passengers
Beneath the decks
Without worries
During the evening’s entertainment
Toward the iceberg

The Cubs’ Catcher
At Wrigley Field
During the play-offs
Behind home plate
With catcher’s gear
In a crouch
Under pressure
Up with a ball
Out with a reach
For a great play
Toward the winning run

The Birthday Present
At my grandparents’ farm
During summer
For my birthday
Behind the house
From the barn
Through the gate
Across the fieldsOver the wooden bridge
Into the woods
On my new pony
