Definitions: The term preposition comes from two words pre
which means before and posit (ponere) to place, iftaken together it means to place before.
Part of speech that shows the relationship between anoun or a pronoun with other words in the sentence.
Is a word that express a relationship between a noun or
a pronoun and other word in the sentence.

at 6 oclock, at noontime, at sunrise
We use on for days and dates on Monday, on November 14, 1958,
on Valentines Day
We use in for longer periods (months, years, seasons in December, in the past, in the future, in
1968, in the 1990s

Note that we usually ask what time are you going out?,we say in the morning, in the evening, on Fridaymorning, on Sunday afternoon
We do not use at/on/in before last/next/this/every
Ill meet you next week (not on next week)

Note when a preposition is alone in sentence, itbecomes an adverb.
Example
