REGULATIONS ON FOOD FORTIFICATION
Food Safety and Standards(Fortification of Foods)Regulations, 2018 are nowGazetted dated 2nd August, 2018
Range (minimum – maximum) for micronutrient dosage
Levels have been adjusted to provide 30-50% of RDA
Bioavailable sources of nutrients added for Iron fortification
Only plant sources to be used for vitamin D
Vanaspati fortification removed
Transition time till 1st January, 2019 and enforcement will now begin
