INSTRUCTIONS

Read all information before installation. Please contact DriTac Flooring Products at (973) 614-9000 with questions.

PROPERTIES AND USAGE OF DriTac 7100 DriTac 7100 is a “green”, single-component, latex based product that reduces moisture vapor transmission from concrete substrates and protects the floor covering installed. DriTac 7100 can also serve to encapsulate and isolate old adhesive residue. DriTac 7100 is for use under most types of floor coverings, including LVT/LVP, fiberglass back sheet vinyl, carpet tile, VCT, cork tile, cork/rubber/foam underlayments, laminate flooring and all other floating floors. DriTac 7100 can be used over porous concrete to help reduce penetration of the adhesive and also reduces dusting of the concrete, which will result in increased spread rates and stronger bond with floor covering adhesives. DriTac 7100 is compatible with all DriTac water-based adhesives. Consult DriTac Technical Services at (973) 614-9000 for floor coverings not listed and adhesives that are not water-based.

RECOMMENDED SUBSTRATES

When Used as an Isolation Membrane:

• Plywood• Concrete

When Used as Moisture Control System:

• New (concrete must be 60-days old) and existing concrete, above and on grade• Lightweight Concrete and Gypcrete, above-grade only

MOISTURE CONTROL

Concrete Moisture Control - when used with DriTac resilient flooring adhesives or in floating floor application:• 1 Coat = 12 lbs per the ASTM F 1869 Calcium Chloride Test Method and 85% RH per the ASTM 2170 Relative Humidity Test.• 2 Coats = 15 lbs per the ASTM F 1869 Calcium Chloride Test Method and 90% RH per the ASTM 2170 Relative Humidity Test.

For best results, use in combination with DriTac 5900 MegaBond or DriTac 5700 StrongBond:• 1 Coat = 15 lbs per the ASTM F 1869 Calcium Chloride Test Method and 99% RH per the ASTM 2170 Relative Humidity Test.

SURFACE PREPARATION

All substrates must be clean and free of dust, oil, grease, paint, curing agents, concrete sealers or any other substances that may prevent or reduce the sealers ability to adhere to the substrate. Use over carpet adhesive residue and cutback adhesive residue that have been scraped to the concrete is allowed. All substrates must be flat to industry standards, 1/8” in 6 feet or 3/16” in 10 feet. Always install DriTac 7100 first, then apply patching compounds over top as directed. Drying times will vary based on porosity of the substrate and jobsite conditions. Adhesives and patching compounds will typically require extended drying times when applied over DriTac 7100. Substrate must be visibly dry without a history of moisture failures.

APPLICATION

Apply using a 1/4” or 3/8” roller. Apply DriTac 7100 in a smooth, even coat. Avoid leaving puddles. Roll DriTac 7100 in a north-south, then east-west direction, to ensure proper coverage. Do not pour directly on the concrete. Use a roller or paint tray. Allow 3 hours dry time prior to applying second coat of DriTac 7100 or flooring. If a second coat is desired, apply in same direction as first coat and allow sealer to dry for 24 hours prior to installation of flooring. Adhesives and patching compounds may require extended drying times when applied over DriTac 7100.

COVERAGE

• 175 - 225 sq. ft per gallon - depending on size of the nap roller used, substrate porosity and smoothness of the substrate.

DRYING TIME

• Single coat 3 hours to install flooring• Second coat requires 24 hours to install flooring

LIMITATIONS

DriTac 7100 is not an equal replacement for high performance, epoxy based moisture reduction barrier. DriTac 7100 can be ap-

plied over carpet adhesive residue and asphalt cutback adhesive residue as long as the adhesive ridges and raised residue have been completely removed from the subfloor with only minor stains remaining. All soft, loose and raised residue must be removed before encapsulation begins. All adhesive must be hard, firm and well bonded. When installing resilient flooring and carpet tiles with nonporous backings, do not use wet lay adhesives or the wet lay method. Use the total flash off method only, when utilizing pressure sensitive adhesives. Radiant heated subfloors should be turned off 24 hours prior to and during installation to prevent premature curing.

CLEAN UP

Wet DriTac 7100 can be removed with a damp cloth. Dry DriTac 7100 can be removed with mineral spirits or a safe solvent. Hands and tools may be cleaned with “waterless hand cleanser” available at hardware and auto supply stores.

VENTILATION

Installers should provide adequate cross-ventilation during and for 24 hours after installation.

PRECAUTIONS

V.O.C. 0 grams/liter. Avoid eye contact. In case of eye contact, flush eye with clean water for fifteen minutes. If irritation persists, get medical attention. Use with adequate ventilation. Keep out of reach of children.
