SUMMARY Premiere is a proposed new development located on E Columbia St, adjacent to the Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and new ‘Brewery District’ community in the City of New Westminster. The surrounding area is quickly growing as a dynamic, progressive and urban hub of New Westminster, offering a mix of residential high-rises, retail and office buildings. New Westminster’s IDEA economic development plan is being developed in conjunction with the expansion of Royal Columbian Hospital, in order to create expanded economic activity in the area and double the hospital floor space & health care services. Premiere will comprise of 9,865 square feet of prominent ground floor retail for lease and second-floor office strata units, below 4 stories & 72 units of rental residential. SUMMARYPremiere is a proposed new development located on E Columbia St,

Located just one block from Premiere, Royal Columbian

Hospital is a key contributor to the economy of New

Westminster and a driver for employment and services in the

surrounding area.

As B.C.’s oldest hospital, and one of its busiest, Royal Columbian

provides expert care to the province’s most seriously ill or

injured. It is the only hospital in B.C. with trauma, cardiac care,

neurosurgery, high-risk obstetrics, neonatal intensive care, and

acute mental health care all on one site. It is also one of two

Level 1 accredited adult trauma centres in the Province.

Royal Columbian’s three-phase $1.3 billion redevelopment

will elevate patient-centred care, introduce advanced medical

technologies, replace ageing buildings, and add more beds

to increase the hospital’s capacity by over 50%, helping it to

address the significant increase in patient volumes seen in

recent years and expected by 2025.

It is anticipated that RCH’s expansion will double the hospital’s floorspace over the next ten years and provide leading edge health care in the hospital’s many clinical specialties, including trauma, cardiology, neurology, mental health and neonatal care.

Situated at the centre of Metro Vancouver, and served by two of New Westminster’s five SkyTrain stations, the IDEA Centre is defined geographically as the area that extends from East Columbia Street to the Braid industrial area, and from Sapperton Green to the southern end of the Brewery District. Anchored by the Royal Columbian Hospital, the IDEA Centre will transform the precinct surrounding the hospital into an integrated collection of health and technology businesses, organizations and entrepreneurs.

The Site is ideally positioned at the heart of the IDEA Centre and will be ideally placed to support this growing and diverse area.
