As the presidents of two remarkable Associations, we would like to be thefirst ones to officially invite you to attend the third Joint Meeting of theCalifornia Blood Bank Society and the South Central Association of BloodBanks. The previous Joint Meetings have been so successful that we justhad to do it again! All of the sessions, industry workshops and social eventsare being held at the Las Vegas Mirage Hotel and Conference Center. It is abeautiful property with lovely rooms, fabulous food, and everything forwhich Las Vegas is famous. It is our hope that you will take a moment nowto review the Preliminary Program and register for this convention.

This year's theme is All You Need is Blood. Both Associations have beenworking very hard to create exciting educational program tracks addressingthe most current issues with appropriate and practical solutions. Along withour industry partners and exceptional networking opportunities, we trustyou will find the information and support you need to ensure your successand progress in providing needed components and therapies.

If this will be your first Annual Meeting with either Association, you will def-initely be surprised by the amount of information available to you. You willhave access to the most current and innovative technology available todaywhen you attend the Industry Workshops and the Exhibits and Trade Show.The education program covers issues currently being identified andaddressed in blood center, hospital, and research environments. It will alsoprovide up to 19.5 continuing education credits in the form of CME andPACE credits (ABHI credit approval is pending). And finally the networkingand resource sharing that 500 plus attendees will provide will be a hugebenefit to you and your organization.

For those of you who have attended previous CBBS, CA RN, CA CLS/MTand SCABB annual meetings, you already know the benefits these eventsprovide. By attending this Joint Meeting you will find that your expecta-tions will be exceeded with the synergy and energy created by these twogroups joining forces on your behalf.

Attendees are encouraged to maketheir hotel reservations early to guarantee availability in the CBBS/SCABBroom block. You are encouraged to make your reservation within the JointMeeting housing block. Your room commitment helps defray the cost of themeeting and maintains affordable registrations fees. Reservations must bemade by March 23, 2011 for the discounted conference rate. All reservationsmust be guaranteed with a deposit of first night’s room and tax.Cancellations are allowed without penalty up to 72 hours prior to the sched-uled arrival date. The Hotel will charge one night’s rate plus tax for cancel-lations within 72 hours of the arrival date or for no-shows.
