I am thankful that you are considering Christian School District – we have been praying for you.Almost 25 years ago, my wife and I began searching for a Christian school for our three kids. We were looking for a school that would help them grow spiritually, challenge them academically, free them creatively and artistically, and build them physically through quality sports programs. We found Christian School District who partnered with our Christian family to provide a biblical worldview for our children. The foundation they received thoroughly prepared them for life in college, the workforce, and as they start their own families. I truly believe this place offers a great education, sound biblical teaching, incredible staff who desire to show Jesus to every student, and a safe space for students to discover their faith and the gifts God has given them.

We look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you have. We would be honored to partner with your family and be the place where your children are equipped to impact the world for the glory of God.

“As a student, Christian School District allowed me to see all of the various denominations come together in harmony for one mission, instilling a biblical worldview so I could become kingdom-

minded in how we interact throughout the world.

I adore that it really feels like family at school. I knew growing up that my teachers desired God’s best for

my life and helped to call me into that role. This is THE reason why CSD was our only choice for schooling once

we decided to end our season of homeschooling. Knowing the support, commitment, and love [we] received is what drew us back.

The teachers lead and love like Jesus. They foster creativity and grit within my children. They call my kids out and up into better things. They encourage them daily to thrive, grow, and develop into the people God has called them to be.” – LAUREN MURRELL (‘06)

Lauren attended Christian School District from grades 1–12 and is a class of 2006 graduate along with her husband, Elijah, who attended grades 11-12 and is a class of 2005 graduate. All three of their children now attend CSD.

“I am humbled by the events that led me to where I am today. I would be crazy to think that I have completed this alone, I’ve had incredible support at every pivotal step. My path has not been traditional, but I am beyond grateful to God for every opportunity and the doors He has opened and closed.” – ANDREA HAYDEN (‘06)

Andrea is currently working in Major League Baseball as the Minnesota Twins strength & conditioning coach - the first female to hold this position in the MLB. She desires to represent other women in her field and use this opportunity as a platform to acknowledge Jesus as her source and anchor.

Biblical FoundationWe truly seek to give students a foundation for life through biblical education. Beginning in preschool, every class connects concepts to biblical truths through the curriculum and class discussion.

Bible ClassesStudents build a strong foundation through daily Bible classes. In our high school Bible classes, students delve deeper into systematic theology, biblical theology, the early church, spiritual formation, and biblical worldview. Each year, students are challenged to make a relationship with Jesus their foundation for life. Students are challenged with biblical truths that are contrary to our culture today.

Weekly Scripture MemorizationTo continue to build on the foundation of daily Bible classes, students at all levels memorize Scripture weekly and are encouraged to give action to the Scripture rather than just memorizing it.

Weekly ChapelStudents in all grades experience a weekly chapel that draws them into worship with music, teaching, prayer, and dramatic presentations. Parents are welcome to join us each week as well.

Both high school and middle school students have the opportunity to lead on a worship band through an audition process that emphasizes a heart for worship along with musical skill.

We have a curriculum that begins in preschool and elementary and builds year-to-year all the way to graduation. From our self-contained classroom format at the elementary, to learning to manage multiple classes in middle school, to preparing for college with dual-credit and AP courses, our program is designed to prepare students for whatever God calls them to after graduation.

Students need more than facts and figures to grow. They need values. Our curriculum is designed to educate and transform the whole student—spiritually, mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically.

We wouldn’t be who we are without our staff. Each of our teachers are committed to our mission and to helping your child build a biblical foundation for life. From praying with and lovingly disciplining preschoolers to mentoring and counseling middle and high schoolers, we have amazing teachers who love Jesus and love teaching students about Him. 33% of our staff have advanced degrees.

We are privileged to offer a dually-accredited program through ACSI and Cognia.

Academic Learning LabA one semester or year-long experience in the Academic Learning Lab is an opportunity for focused study in an interactive environment designed to help students with learning differences experience success in the classroom. A student action plan is created for each enrolled student. Topics included are organizational strategies that support the school experience, time management, note-taking ideas, test preparation, along with strategies designed to help students improve test scores.

ESL/International Program at CHS and CMSThe ESL program provides international students from grades 7–12 with an individualized educational experience exceeding state requirements and providing full immersion classrooms and AP college credit where applicable. ESL students receive the needed support and accommodations along with testing support and SAT/ACT tutoring, college counseling, and extracurricular programs.

“Having been blessed with the opportunity to attend this school since kindergarten, I have experienced Christ-centered competition for the majority of my life. Through the many wonderful coaches and teammates I have had the honor of working with, I have realized that, contrary to what the world tells us, sports are not primarily about winning, trophies, and success. Rather, they hold a much higher purpose of promoting unity, leadership, and growth.”

– LUKE MCNEIL (‘19), Scholar Athlete

Depending on the sport, CMS and CES teams play in local league competitions or against other schools in the area. Teams depend on student interest and parent volunteers to coach.

Christ-centered Athletic Teams

Our coaches are committed to our mission and vision and strive for integrity as they pursue competitive excellence. They push our athletes to inspire leadership and spiritual growth—it’s not just about winning, it’s about using your gifts to glorify God.

Our preschool program not only prepares children for kindergarten, but also gives them a biblical foundation. We have a great program built around a loving, Christ-centered environment—all of our preschoolers are reading by the time they enter kindergarten. Students can attend 5 days a week, or we offer a seat-sharing program for 2 or 3-day attendance. Here are some important things we focus on in preschool:

We love integrating our preschool students with our elementary students when appropriate. Each preschooler is paired with a buddy from 5th grade to do special activities, read with them, and sit with them each week during chapel. Weekly Bible lessons and Scripture memory are foundational to our preschool. We want them to learn who God is and how much He loves them.

“Upon switching to Christian Preschool, we immediately noticed positive changes in our child. Not only is the sense of community amazing, but she feels truly welcome and celebrated when she walks in the doors. What sticks out was her first progress report. I could tell she was more than a number or an issue to be handled. Her teacher saw the good in her as well as giving areas to work on. She was celebrated instead of handled.”

Our elementary program starts in kindergarten with biblically-based curriculum that builds year-to-year all the way to 5th grade. Students experience smaller class sizes (20 students or fewer), and get to really develop a relationship with their teacher and their peers. They also focus on growing their faith with daily Bible lessons, weekly Scripture memory, and weekly chapels all together as a school.

Our 4th and 5th graders experience a co-teacher setup helping them begin preparing for middle school and switching classes. Upper-grade students also have the opportunity to buddy-up with preschoolers and kindergartners for chapel time and class parties, which encourages leadership in our older students, provides an older buddy for a preschooler to look up to, and cultivates a great family atmosphere for our whole campus.

We know students focus better when they’ve gotten some physical energy out, so multiple recess opportunities are planned throughout the day. Daily exposure to special classes including art, music, computer, library, and P.E., allows them to explore and grow their God-given talents.

Christian Middle School shares a campus with Christian High School and focuses on grades 6–8. Middle school is an important time of development when students are trying to figure out who they are. Our goal is to help students discover who they are in God’s eyes, and develop the skills and understanding needed to prepare for high school and beyond. We offer traditional core academics along with daily Bible classes, and a variety of arts and athletics, all presented by creative and engaging staff who truly love this age group!

In 6th grade, students begin their middle school career with a modified block schedule to introduce them to changing classes, lockers, and moving around the building. Three core teachers specialize in academics and students also receive well-rounded electives to help them discover interests they may have in fine arts, technology, study skills, and physical education.

In 7th and 8th grade, students follow a traditional seven-period schedule in preparation for high school, with an option to pursue a variety of electives and an honors track in math and science. Our Bible classes separate into boys and girls classes starting in 7th grade to encourage deeper conversation and openness amongst the students—this also builds incredible relationships as students explore their faith.

At Christian High School, our students make deep connections with their teachers and their peers. While we are proud of our academics that include numerous AP and dual-credit classes, it’s not just about the curriculum. Students become part of a tight-knit community committed to learning about and serving God. Smaller class sizes allow our staff to establish real rapport with each student, and often mentoring relationships outside of school that continue into adulthood.

And we like to have fun too! Football games, homecoming dances, pep rallies, and competitive events like Winterfest bring a full high school experience in a Christ-centered environment. We round it out with some incredible weekly teaching by local pastors and speakers and student-led worship in chapel. Students also complete community service hours each year totaling 130 hours by the time they graduate, which help our students step outside their immediate surroundings and focus on how they can serve God with their lives.

Christian School District becomes like an extended family—a community of like-minded families working together toward the vision of a biblical foundation for our kids. Together we partner to coach teams, serve lunch, coordinate events, and keep the cost of tuition affordable for our families. Instead of just filling a spot, we want parents to use their gifts effectively. Our Volunteer Coordinator helps parents find a place to serve to God’s glory.

The CHS Booster Club also supports our athletic programs and helps fund special projects.
