Natural Environment Prefecture of fez covers an area of 332,1 km2. Morphological units It is located in the Plaine of saiss, halfway between the north and the south of Morocco, bounded: In the North, Northwest and Northeast by the province of Moulay Yacoub; in The southwest by the province of Sefrou; Climate : The area has a temperate Mediterranean sub-floor climate; under continental influences during summer and winter. However, the geographical diversity of the region makes that each natural area presents particular climatic nuances. Average maximum temperature: 37 ° C Average minimum temperature : 6 °C

The distribution of rainfall during the year is characterized by heavy rainfall in the autumn, a slight decrease in winter with a relative maximum in early spring, summer is generally dry. The more important rainy period lasts from October to May, with 9-10 rainy days per month for an annual average of 84 rainy days.

1- Craft business : The city of Fez is considered as the capital of craftsmanship. It

involves the majority of artisans and handicraft activities. It represents 16% of the national turnover. The main craft activities are: ceramics and pottery, tapestry, wood crafts. , basketry, silver and gold ware,, copper and brassware, silk articles and embroidery, leather goods, leather clothing, sculpture and wood painting, metalwork ... etc. Fez counts 52 888 artisans in 2015 (Source: Regional office of Handicrafts of Fez).

Artisanal basic infrastructure at the prefecture of fez consists of:

� A handicraft set

� 5 Training Centres: IAT in Ain Nokbi, CFA in Marja, CFP batha, EFA in Aouinate Alhajjaj and EFA in Lamsselah

� 70 cooperatives and 108 professional associations.

2. Industry :

The city of Fez brings together nearly 62 % of the industrial fabric of the Region, occupies a privileged place in the national industrial fabric and participate in the socio-economic development of the Region and consequently of the Kingdom

Main products exported: Cable for car industry, lines for engines, factory-made clothing, semi-processed leather, leather goods, canned olives and capers, food gum, olive oils
