Description

Starting point / trailheadErlacherhaus

Turn-by-turn directionsFootpath 170 follows a comfortable route from theErlacherhaus along a road to the Feldhütte (1,758m). From here, it passes through an area of larch andmountain pine trees, climbing gently up to theRosennock/Nassbodensee turn-off. If you are lucky,you might see some chamois on the section towardsthe Kleiner Rosennock. The route then runs pastNassbodensee below the Zunderwand and gentlyback up to the Predigerstuhl. Fantastic views of theJulian Alps can be enjoyed from here. Route 13 runsdown to the Erlacher Bockhütte and via the roadback to the start.

Author´s adviceBotany Tip - AuriculaThe auricula, also known as the Alpine primula, is aprimrose plant. it glows a beautiful golden yellowcolour in cracks, clefts and crevices filled with fineearth, and on rocky limestone ledges. Try to resistthe temptation to pluck the flowers: the auricular ismost beautiful when viewed in its natural habitat.
