application with in particular several nozzles that are Buffer Zone approved (www.nozal.fr).

▪ VariosElECt: ensures homogeneous droplet size reducing drift is the key to successful spraying.

VARIOSELECT is an option that guarantees your success. It allows you to use the nozzles in their recommended pressure

range regardless of the speed and the dose to be applied. VARIOSELECT is a new nozzle holder for 2 or 4 nozzles. Each of the nozzles has a pneumatic anti drip device.

BEnEFit For VariosElECt UsErs:

the operator programmes min. and max. pressure thresholds to suit the technical characteristics of the nozzles used. as flow rates increases as well as the pressure the upper pressure threshold is reached,

it automatically switches to a nozzle of a higher calibre and inversely when the flow rate drops.this equipment controls perfectly the size of the droplet and thus greatly reduces the drift that may occur.

▪ adjustment

On a farm, the sprayer is one of the most important pieces of equipment.It makes the difference between success and failure of a crop year by protecting the crops.For maximum efficiency, the sprayer must be serviced and adjusted correctly, and checked regularly to ensure its performances are up to standard.

This presents both financial and environmental advantages. A correctly adjusted sprayer will permit optimum application of products onto their target and therefore give ideal protection. This helps avoid extra passes and saves products, which also helps top protect the natural environment.

For optimum application and the choice of the spraying period, many factors may influence your decisions.▪ Choice of the product: contact or systemic.

sPrayinG PEriod:▪ Wind speed: the wind can deviate some of the droplets from the

target, causing irregular application and a risk of contamination outside the target area.

▪ humidity: if the humidity is > 60 and < 95%: penetration of the foliage by the phytosanitary products is enhanced

▪ temperature: each product has a MIN and MAX temperature.

tiP: there are 3 drift factors: wind, temperature and humidity. Preferably spray in the morning or in the evening.

▪ spraying speed: a high spraying speed delays the droplet being deposited onto the target: drift and evaporation.

▪ spraying height: if the height is too low, this will prevent the product being sprayed evenly and if it is too high this will increase the distance the droplet has to travel and increase the risk of drift.

▪ size of droplets: if they are too fine this considerably increases the risk of drift and evaporation. If the droplets are too large, this reduces the number of impacts and thus the quality of the covering. It also increases the risk of run off.

The quality of incorporation will ensure that the products to be prepared for spraying are the right mixture to ensure homogeneous application.The incorporation must eliminate all risk of contamination of the other clean water circuits and above all avoid any contamination when spraying.

Most important is good knowledge of the surface area of the crop to be sprayed.Consequently, depending on the product, the efficiency sought and the outputs desired, it must be filled as precisely as possible.

tECnoMa's solUtions▪ inCorPorator: the TECNOMA incorporator is efficient and

easy to use, providing a good homogenous of the spray mixture. It is supplied by clean water.

protection from any potential splashing and avoids any subsequent contamination.

▪ hydro inJECtion: 2 or 3 hydro injectors agitators are fitted in the main tank. The agitation can be adjusted to avoid any frothing that could increase residue.

with ultra low volumes and this avoids clogging of the nozzles.

to be kept completely free but stable regardless of the terrain being sprayed. It is equipped with a slope correction system to adapt to sloped ground.

For precise and clean application, it is important to start cleanly at the beginning of the parcel. It is also necessary to have quick and clean section cut offs to avoid overlapping or "over-dosing".

Homogeneous application onto the crops requires the working heights between the nozzles and the target to be respected.

For optimum application and to obtain the correct dose at the right time and in the right place, the precision of the surface area of the crop to be sprayed is paramount.

tECnoMa's solUtions▪ dPaE FloW ratE rEGUlations: these regulations use a

flow meter that is unaffected by the viscosity and density of the products and the operating pressure. It measures precisely and instantaneously the sprayed flow. The flow rate regulation uses a "return and start up" regulation algorithm.

regardless of the start conditions at the headland (speed, flow rate, number of sections, …) the regulation is adjusted even before the sections are started.

What is GPs?

Launched by the US military in 1970, the Global Positioning System (GPS) has been operating since 1993. This radio-navigation system, based on a constellation of 24 satellites, permits users to identify their position anywhere in the world. Fitted with atomic clocks, the satellites emit radio signals that are picked up by the antenna and the radio receiver. The computer evaluates the distance between the satellites and the GPS by the difference between the time it was sent and the time it was received. The condition required for it to operate: it must pick up at least 4 satellites.Currently the satellite network, GPS (American system) and GLONASS (Russian system), are used for positioning in agriculture.

The GPS has a precision of 1 to 15 m, that is not sufficient for agriculture, but other correction systems are available to enhance the accuracy.

At the start of the job, the user defines a straight line by 2 points A and B. The guidance system then traces lines that are parallel and at a distance equivalent to the width of the tool.

At the start of the job, the user defines a working curve. The guidance system then works along the same curved lines parallel at the width of the tool.

At the start of the job, the user defines a curve at the edge of the field. Progressively this curved line is smoothed out to become a straight line.

The guidance system works to suit the width of the tool, from a start point A and a direction.

Regardless of the guidance system used, the basic principle consists of defining a reference line (path to be followed), then the integrated system follows the parallels to the reference line by using the satellite signals and taking into consideration the width of the tool. The reference line does not necessarily have to be straight.

tECnoMa's solUtions tramlining application of the field and guidance (option) (Pre-requirement: Guidance licence)

External guidance bar (option)

The tramlining and guidance function guides the driver to suit:▪ the width of the tool, ▪ the surface area already covered,▪ the limits of the field.

▪ The external guidance bar may be positioned in the visual field of the user without mov-ing the terminal. It operates with LEDs.

slope correction module (option)(Pre-requirement: Guidance licence)

▪ When the tractor is equipped with a GPS antenna and the land is undulating, the signal must be corrected in order to avoid a positioning error that increases progressively. The correction depends on the slope and the height of the antenna.

▪ to guide taking account of the working width, ▪ to locate obstacles, ▪ to map fields, ▪ to map and store work carried out or in progress.

automatic management of the sectionsPrinciple: This application is used with sprayers, seeders and fertilizer spreaders. The principle is to close or start the sections automatically to suit the zones to be sprayed or seeded to avoid overlapping.

thE sECtions arE ClosEd and startEd aUtoMatiCally:

▪ at the headland or the limit of a furrow sprayed, ▪ when there is overlapping with a zone that has already been sprayed, ▪ on short work.

tECnoMa solUtion automatic management application of the sprayed sections (option) (Pre-requirement: auto section licence and guidance licence)

▪ when the sprayer passes in the field, the sections are automatically started or closed depending on the zones already sprayed or to be sprayed.

thE UsEr Can sElECt thE lEVEl oF oVErlaP oF a sECtion (EsPECially on short Work):

▪ 0 %: avoids any overlapping of a section with a zone already sprayed, ▪ 50 %: the section will be started or closed at 50 % overlap, ▪ 100 %: the section will be started or closed at 100 % overlap.

BEnEFit For UsErs: this application permits overlapping and missed areas to be avoided which creates a gain of 0.3 % to 5 % of the surface area sprayed or seeded to suit the geometry and

surface area of the field (source arValis).this application also permits night time spraying (when optimum conditions are often found: wind, humidity, temperature).

Variable rate applicationPrinciple: This technique is designed to modulate the contribution of the inputs to suit the uniform nature of the field (land or crops): the right dose in the right place. The modulation is made using recommended maps or in real time with sensors on the tractor. The recommended maps are obtained from the land maps, biomass or the compilation of several maps. The rules for the modulation depend on the objectives of the operating system.

EXaMPlE: the variable rate application for the 2nd supply of wheat nitrogen, from the uniform nature of the land, (source Cral): to a saving of 14 £/ha of nitrogen for a same mean output per field, to a gain of 3q/ha for a same total dose of nitrogen.

▪ When the field has already been mapped, the user can subtract the periphery of the field for a given width.

In this case, the contour is treated at the end of thre work.

▪ When the user has a recommended map for the application in SHP format (shape) or ISOXML format, the NOVATOP Terminal permits its use.

The regulation system then receives an application instruction to suit the position of there sprayer in the field. The map is transferred via the USB stick.

Principle: The auto steer system guides the tractor or self-propelled unit automatically according to the path determined by the GPS signal. Nevertheless, the driver may override the control of the machine when required, the driver must however turn the machine around at the headland.

the noVatoP terminal is also compatible with dynamic analysis systems that permit modulation. in this case it is connected directly using the isoBUs or standard lh5000 protocols.

tECnoMa solUtion automatic driving application (option)*

(Pre-requirement: automatic driving licence, Guidance licence)

▪ The self-propelled unit is equipped with a dedicated electronic module (driving computer) and a proportional hydraulic valve for the steering (proportional distributor). When the guidance path is shown on the screen (cab console ) the user presses a button activate automatic driving.

The auto steer system actuates the hydraulic orbital valve then that guides the self-propelled unit automatically to the path determined by the GPS signal. The turning angle information is provided by the angle sensor.

The system actuates the hydraulic valve on the Orbitrol which progressively directs the machine along the closest theoretical path.

At the headland, the user takes control again as soon as he/she touches the steering wheel. The user has to turn the machine a little more than half the way around.

Another press of automatic mode takes the machine to the following path.

BEnEFit For UsErs: the driver only has to concentrate on the work to be carried out.
