Welcome to Precious Journeys Collection 2013

Welcome to the world of Big Five Tours & Expeditions. We are pleased to present to you the 2013 Precious Journeys, a select group of adventures that represent a fusion of the core ideas of luxury and value. Yes, these basic ideas can work well together. It has long been assumed that to gain value one must sacrifice luxury. We believe that is not the case. There is a place for journeys that successfully meld these concepts of value and luxury, creating itineraries that merit attention and provide peak travel experiences without breaking the bank. This collection was designed to offer accessible luxury to those who may be new to the world of international travel. These programs also retain Big Five’s hallmark of elevated customer care and innovative itineraries. Here you find activities that take advantage of the classic elements of each destination and add in some free time for your own discoveries. These adventures take advantage of seasonal differences, which means the best value with fewer travelers for an even more engaging adventure The bottom line is that, like all Big Five tours, these journeys are focused on providing exceptional travel experiences that lead to authentic, personal encounters, where we learn, are touched and forever changed. Our corporate motto – Enriching Lives Through Distinctive Journeys – is no mere slogan; it is the heartbeat at the center of every journey we develop. Thank you. Ashish Sanghrajka President

White Glove Service® in action Brazil Extraordinaire From our Guest: Thank you so much. It more than met our expectations! All of the hotels were perfect with the balance of the resorts and boutique hotels. The guides were first rate. Each one was very knowledgeable, spoke English very well and was enthusiastic about showing us their cities/the Amazon. (The guide) in Foz do Iguacu and (the guide) in Rio were outstanding. We were very fortunate to have them as our guides. I must say that the White Glove service was amazing. They saved us many times. First with the booking of the restaurant in Sao Paulo, then with the airline tickets, which we didn't have for the flights in Brazil, and speaking to the hotel in Rio when the hotel told us that we were to check out a day early. The service was very prompt and it helped decrease our angst. It was a trip of a lifetime and thank you many times over. Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands From our Guest: Having just completed my photo albums, I now have lasting memories of your wonderfully planned and executed holiday. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call in Quito checking that everything was going well. Our Quito area guide was quite knowledgeable, courteous and concerned for our safety. We were most pleased with such personalized service. Our only concern was with delayed luggage passing through Bogota both going south and north. Our accommodation on cruise ship was just the right place for two that feel the motion of any sea going vessel. We appreciated your tips regarding needed items, especially the use of wet suits for snorkeling in the cool waters. This whole excursion was a highlight of our travel experiences. Thank you. Egypt From our Guest: I was a recent guest of Big Five’s in the nation of Egypt, and I want to thank you and your company for the excellent services I received. Of all the trips I have taken worldwide, I think I will most remember my time in Egypt for the overall flawlessness of the experience your company provided, as well as for the quality of my guides, accommodations, and arrangements. Not only was Big Five’s supervision of my trip exceptional, but the degree of services provided by your Egyptian partner was among the highest I’ve ever experienced abroad. The work of (guide) was superior; he absolutely poured himself out to ensure that every element of my visit to Egypt went flawlessly. I don’t believe anyone could have been more devoted to my happiness, and I will never forget the exhaustive degree of personal devotion he gave me. And the Egyptologist guides assigned me in Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel were remarkable. Thanks to the rare talent of the Egyptologist guide, my experience in Cairo and its surrounding environs was one of the most enjoyable I’ve ever had anywhere. She is extremely intelligent, adaptable, creative, and pleasant to be with. She is above all very buoyant of spirit. She created for me those two days an exciting opportunity to embrace the area’s culture, as well as made it easy for me to capture the very spirit of the places we visited. Indeed, when I look back at my nine days in Egypt, I will most of all be able to say with great pleasure that I became personal friend of all four of these travel professionals. Thank you for your personal commitment to the success of my most recent journey. Thank you and those receiving this letter for making this most recent experience one of the very finest a traveler anywhere in the world can have.
