We are committed to satisfy all the requirements of our customers by delivering the projects they have undertaken at the agreed quality, cost and time.

Project Management Project management as "the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a particular project." The process of directing and controlling a project from start to finish will be done in following steps:

Project conception and initiation

An idea for a project will be carefully examined to determine whether or not it benefits the organization. During this phase, our decision-making team will identify if the project can realistically be completed.

Page 19: PRE-QUALIFICATION AND QMS MANUAL

PRE-QUALIFICATION AND

QMS MANUAL ISO 9001:2008

19 | P a g e

Project planning

A project plan, project charter and/or project scope may be put in writing, outlining the work to be performed. During this phase, our team will prioritize the project, calculate a budget and schedule, and determine what resources are needed.

Project launch or execution

Resources' tasks are distributed to teams & are informed of responsibilities. This is a good time to bring up important project related information.

Project performance and control

Project managers will compare project status and progress to the actual plan, as resources perform the scheduled work. During this phase, project managers will adjust schedules or do what is necessary to keep the project on track.

Project close

After project tasks are completed and the client has approved the outcome, an evaluation is done to highlight project success and/or learn from project history.

Our Project-Based Approach

• Obtain computer-aided design (CAD) backgrounds usually provided by the Client / Main Contractor.

• Coordinate electrical and low-current trades to determine clearance needs. • Coordinate with mechanical systems, including all pipe work and ductwork, to avoid

conflicts. • Electronically circulate drawings to different stakeholders and project participants to

ensure smooth coordination.

• Make changes and deviations as necessary. • Issue "Good for Construction" drawings to the site once coordination is complete. • Utilize a Request for Information (RFI) system to concisely and accurately document

the process of site enquiry to resolve ambiguities and conflicts. Log and track RFIs to ensure smooth communication and timely response.

US NFPA 1, Fire Code, of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

There are five steps in carrying out a fire risk assessment:

1. Identify hazards: consider how a fire could start and what could burn;

2. People at risk: employees, contractors, visitors and anyone who is vulnerable, e.g. disabled;

3. Evaluation and action: consider the hazards and people identified in 1 and 2 and act to remove and reduce risk to protect people and premises;

4. Record, plan and train: keep a record of the risks and action taken. Make a clear plan for fire safety and ensure that people understand what they need to do in the event of a fire; and

The precautionary measures are as follows

• Reducing ignition sources • Reducing potential fuel sources • General fire precautions • Emergency procedures • Higher fire risk methods and materials of construction • Guidance for multi-storey buildings (new or refurbished)

Key aspects to providing safe means of escape on construction sites must include:

• Routes: your risk assessment should determine the escape routes required, which must be kept available and unobstructed;

• Alternatives: well-separated alternative ways to ground level should be provided where possible;

• Protection: routes can be protected by installing permanent fire separation and fire doors as soon as possible;

• Assembly: make sure escape routes give access to a safe place where people can assemble and be accounted for. On a small site the pavement outside may be adequate; and

Sustainability Sustainability as is widely acknowledged, is the requirement to provide for human needs to exist without damaging or depleting nature’s resources, not only for the present generations, but for all future generations. Vafcotech believes that there is more to sustainability than just the natural resources. Social and economic sustainability must also be key factors in present-day built environment planning and delivery.

The ability to tap into the local marketplace wherever we build is vital for the local economy in providing jobs, and trade with local suppliers. It is Al Hayfa philosophy that we contribute to the local region’s continuous development in this fashion, and our Corporate Social Responsibility dovetails into this.

On a more detailed look at the way projects are designed and built, we involve ourselves as much as we can in the process of the requirements of the differing systems to rate sustainable development.
