? Students from 8th to 12th Std. are eligible to participate.

? Multiple teams per school (2 members per team) will be allowed to participate.

Entry & Egilibility

? TCS IT Wiz, India's biggest IT Quiz for schools, was started in 1999 for students in

classes 8-12. The program aims to build awareness and hone IT skills, to help students

look at technology through a whole new perspective. IT plays an integral role in today's

society, and economy and is a key enabler for success in diverse fields.

? Today, TCS IT Wiz has become a national benchmark in the inter-school quizzing

circuit for the level of research, the intensity with which teams compete and the sheer

participation numbers it draws. The quiz has received immense patronage among the

student community, teachers, parents and educational institutions and has become a

part of the agenda for schools across the country.

? The 2013 TCS IT Wiz will be held in 14 cities across India - Ahmedabad, Bangalore,

Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Kochi,

Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune.

? Apart from the 14 cites in India, the TCS IT Wiz is also held in the UAE . The 3rd UAE

edition of the TCS IT Wiz held in Dubai (April 2013) underlines its growth in the

international circuits

The Regional Rounds will be followed by the

National Finals to be held in December 2013

? On the day of the event, participants should be present at the venue at the specified

time in their school uniform and carry their official identification from the school, if any.

? Participants will answer the preliminary written round on the pre-printed answer

sheets supplied by TCS.

? Top 6 teams will qualify for the Regional finals, based on

their performance in the written preliminary round. After the

corrections, prior to the Finals, the quizmaster will give the

answers for the prelims and announce the 6 top team names

and invite them on stage to participate in the Regional finals.

? The Regional finals will comprise of oral questions, audio,

visual, connect and rapid-fire rounds. The scoring system will

be explained by the quizmaster before each round.

? Ties, if any, will be suitably resolved. The quizmaster's verdict will be final.

The Quiz will focus on application of Information Technology across various sectors such as world of Internet and unique web sites, IT buzzwords and acronyms, IT Personalities - International, national and local, brands of IT and communication companies, software products and brands, the history of IT as well as its humorous side.

? The Quiz also covers areas where IT has made an impact - education, entertainment, books, multimedia, music, movies, internet, banking, advertising, sports, gaming, social networking, blogging, cell phones, etc.

Rules of the Game

Prelim: This would be a common set of 20 questions for all the teams at the venue. Questions would be in the form of oral, visual and audiovisual.

Final: The top six teams from the written prelim would qualify for each regional final. Only the best team from each school will be called on stage, in the event of multiple teams from the same school qualifying for the final.

ROUNDSThere will be a unique new format based on the world of internet. Details of each round will be explained by the quizmaster at the event".

TCS IT Wiz has been hosted by noted quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, popularly known as Pickbrain, since its inception in 1999. He heads Greycaps; India's largest on stage quiz company.

Known for his distinctive style of quizzing, Giri holds seven Limca records for quizzing achievements and has hosted more than 1600 shows across 64 destinations of India. He has also hosted quiz shows in USA, UK, Srilanka, Singapore and the Middle East Region.
