The instruments used at Bhakti are state-of-the-art, computerized medical devices capable of measuring the bio- impedance of your tissue and customize current output to meet your specific needs. Supporting your body to heal from any wound or injury while also offering you relief from pain. The ‘current of healing’ plays an important role in your post surgery recovery. In order to understand how Microcurrent works, it’s helpful to understand the concepts of the “current of injury” and the “current of healing”. Living tissues have bioelectric circuits that originate within the body. When the tissue is injured, current leaks from the skin and a short circuit occurs causing a “current of injury” The circuit can be restored thru external means. The “current of healing” induced by microcurrent therapy plays an important role in healing injured tissues. (Becker RO (1961) The bioelectric factors in amphibian-limb regeneration. Microcurrent therapy has been demonstrated to have potentially multiple effects on all phases of healing. - Pre-op it is used to optimize the tissue to

tolerate the surgery and speed recovery after.

- Post-op, it is used to maintain the lift and to treat blood stasis, scarring and numbness.

- Enhances proliferation and protein synthesis of cultured human fibroblasts.

- Increase collagen deposition in excisional wounds.

- Enhances collagen fiber alignment that is better organized by comparison to control wounds.

- Enhanced tensile strength. - Proven to increase ATP levels - Increase collagen thickness in connective

tissue by 10% - Increase blood circulation by 35% - Increase collagen elastin productivity by

45%** - Enhances fibroblast activity (collagen) - Maintains strength and support for elastin
