From Rev. Kenute’s Desk Today is Queen`s College Appeal Sunday.

We are encouraged to give towards the

development and work of an institution that has been training clergy for our parishes since

1841. The goal and purpose are to provide

theological education, pastoral skills and

spiritual formation for those discerning their

vocations and preparing for ministry. Queen’s College boasts a strong community

and offers a wide array of degree, diploma,

and certificate programs for people at the

various stages of their discernment and

preparation for ordained and lay

ministries. Also regular continuing education for clergy and pastoral workers. Programs are

offered for full-time and part-time students,

both on campus and by distance. Queen’s College is a Christ-centered, Spirit-

filled Theological College, rooted in the

Anglican tradition, and has strong

partnerships with other denominations.

People of all faiths who wish to join our

community in common pursuit of theological

insight, pastoral skills and spiritual growth

are welcomed. For those who will seek to fulfil a calling in

ordained ministry and for lay people in the

pews who want to serve their church better,

Queen`s College is the place for you.

Every gift and support given to Queen`s College we directly support the church locally, the parish, the Diocese and the

Province. Give generously.

1. Kyrie (Lisa Narcisse) Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy.

Christ have mercy.

Christ have mercy.

Christ have mercy.

Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy.

2. Lord I Need You Lord, I come, I confess

Bowing here I find my rest

Without You I fall apart

You're the One that guides my heart

chorus

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You

Every hour I need You

My one defense, my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is

more

Where grace is found is where You are

And where You are, Lord, I am free

Holiness is Christ in me (chorus)

Teach my song to rise to You

When temptation comes my way

And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You

Jesus, You're my hope and stay (chorus

You're my one defense,

my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

My one defense, my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

3. Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;

Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.

Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,

Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true

Word;

I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;

Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;

Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;

Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;

Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower

Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my

power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,

Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:

Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,

High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,

May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s

Sun!

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,

Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Prayer after Communion:

All: Gracious God, in the Eucharist we celebrate your love for us and for

all people. Grant that strengthened by these holy gifts, we may show

your love in our lives, and know its fulfilment in your presence.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Blessing:

Priest: Throughout each day, may you know the solid ground of God beneath

your feet and at nights, may the Spirit mend your body, mind and soul.

Go in the name of Jesus to love friend and enemy, neighbor and stranger, the righteous and the lost. Be ye holy as your God is holy and the blessing

of God Almighty, Father, Son and Holy Spirit be with now and always.

All: Amen!

Recessional Hymn: Shine Jesus Shine

Blaze, Spirit blaze - Set our hearts on fire

Flow, river flow - Flood the nations with grace and mercy

Send forth Your word - Lord and let there be light.

Lord I come to Your awesome presence,

From the shadows into Your radiance, By the blood I may enter Your brightness,

Search me, try me, consume all my darkness,

Shine on me. Shine on me. (chorus)

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness.

So our faces display Your likeness. Ever changing from glory to glory,

Mirrored here may our lives tell Your story.

Shine on me. Shine on me. (chorus)

CONTEMPORARY EUCHARIST Processional Hymn: Here I Am to Worship

Light of the world, you stepped down into darkness

Opened my eyes and let me see

Beauty that made this heart adore you

Hope of a life spent with you. (Chorus)

Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down

Here I am to say that you’re my God

Altogether lovely, altogether worthy,

Altogether wonderful to me.

King of all days, oh so highly exalted

You’re glorious in heaven above.

Humbly you came to this Earth You created

All for love’s sake became poor. (Chorus)

I’ll never know how much it cost

To see my sin up on that cross

I’ll never know how much it cost

To see my sin up on that cross (Chorus 2X)

The Greeting

Leader: The grace and love of the Lord Jesus be with you all.

All: And also with you. Priest: As we come for worship, let us remind ourselves that love is not

an optional extra for those in Christ’s Church;

All: We will be totally loving as Christ is perfectly loving. Priest: God’s Spirit dwells in us, for we are God’s temple.

All: We belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God. Praise the Lord! All: Holy, loving and faithful God; teach us to fear you without

being afraid, to serve you without limits and to worship you

without constraints. You are perfect in grace, perfect in mercy,

and perfect in truth. With you there is always light and life and

holy joy. Wonderful is your name today and for ever! Amen. Sunday School Talk: Children`s Song: Emmanuel

and in all our weakness sustain us by your mighty power; through

Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy

Spirit, one God, now and forever.

All: Amen. THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD

First Reading: Leviticus 19:1-2, 9-18 [The people of Israel will be holy because of their association with the Lord their God, who is by nature holy. God set them aside for that purpose.]

For the Psalm: A Medley of Songs

He Has Made Me Glad

I will enter his gates with thanksgiving in my heart,

I will enter His courts with praise.

I will say, “This is the day that the Lord has made,

I will rejoice for He has made me glad.”

He has made me glad, He has made me glad;

I will rejoice for He has made me glad.

He has made me glad, He has made me glad;

I will rejoice for He has made me glad.

Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit

Ev’ry time I feel the Spirit moving in my heart, I will pray (X2) Up on the mountain when my Lord spoke,

Out of His mouth came fire and smoke

Looked all around me, it looked so fine

I asked my Lord if all was mine.

Ev’ry time I feel the Spirit moving in my heart, I will pray (X2)

I’ll Fly Away

Some glad morning when this life is o’er, I’ll fly away

To a home on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away.

I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away

When I die, Hallelujah by and by, I’ll fly away.

Do Lord

I’ve got a home in glory land that outshines the sun (X3)

Way beyond the blue.

Do Lord, O do Lord, O do remember me (X3)

Way beyond the blue.

Second Reading: I Corinthians 3:10-11, 16-23 [We are God’s temple and God’s temple is holy.”]

9

And lead us not into temptation, Hallowed be thy name

But deliver us from all that is evil. Hallowed be thy name

For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, Hallowed be thy name

For ever and ever and ever and ever. Hallowed be thy name

Amen, Amen, it shall be so! Hallowed be thy name

Amen, Amen, it shall be so! Hallowed be thy name.

The Breaking of Bread and The Invitation Priest: We break the bread of life, and that life is the light of the world

All: God here among us, light in the midst of us, bring us to light and life. Priest: These are the gifts of God for you the people of God

All: Thanks be to God.

Sanctuary (X3)

Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true

With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living, sanctuary for You.

Communion Hymns: 1. I love You, Lord and I lift my Voice

I love You, Lord and I lift my voice

To worship you, O my soul, rejoice!

Take joy, My King, in what You hear, May it be a sweet, sweet sound, In your ear.

2. It is Well with My Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,

When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, You taught me to say,

It is well, it is well, with my soul.

It is well, with my soul, Here's my heart, make it whole

For You I live, in You I dwell, Oh my soul, It is well.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control,

That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,

And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

It is well, with my soul, Here's my heart, make it whole.

For You I live, in You I dwell, Oh my soul, It is well.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!

My sin, not in part but the whole,

Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

It is well (it is well) it is well. With my soul (with my soul)

It is well, with my soul, Here's my heart, make it whole

For You I live, in You I dwell, Oh my soul, It is well.

8

Each daybreak you call us to feed the hungry, bring recovery of sight, liberate the oppressed, heal the brokenhearted and bind up their

wounds, and keep watch for the dawn of your commonwealth on earth.

For all of this we give you thanks. And we praise you, joining our voices with all life on earth and the company of heaven, who forever sing their hymns to proclaim the glory

of your name. Sanctus (Schubert) All: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might.

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might.

Heaven and earth are full, full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest, Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest, Hosanna in the highest. Priest: On the night he was betrayed, Jesus took bread, and after giving thanks,

broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take, eat; this is my body

given for you. Whenever you do this, do it in remembrance of me. After supper, he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant,

sealed in my blood, shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever

you drink it, do it in remembrance of me. Therefore let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Acclamation (Lisa Narcisse) All: Christ has died. Alleluia! Christ is risen Alleluia!

Christ will come again. Alleluia. Amen. Amen. Amen. Priest: By your Spirit bless this bread and this cup that they may become for us

the presence of Christ among us. Shine your light and your love on the offering of our lives. Enlighten us that we may be your people, the body

of the risen Christ, the light of the world, set apart to serve this earth that

you have made. Through Christ, with Christ, in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, we praise you, O Eternal Light, in songs of everlasting praise. All: Blessing and honour, Alleluia. Glory and power. Alleluia.

Be yours forever and ever. Alleluia. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.

The Lords Prayer Priest: And now as our savior has taught us we are bold to sing All: Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, Hallowed be thy name

On the earth as it is in heaven. Hallowed be thy name

Give us this day our daily bread. Hallowed be thy name

Forgive us all our trespasses, Hallowed be thy name

As we forgive those who trespass against us. Hallowed be thy name 5

Gradual Hymn: Give Thanks With a Grateful Heart. Give thanks with a grateful heart

Give thanks to the Holy One

Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son (repeat all 3 lines)

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"

Let the poor say, "I am rich

Because of what the Lord has done for us" (repeat all 3 lines)

Gospel Acclamation: Alle-Alle-Alleluia (Music: Fr. Richard Holung)

The Gospel: Matthew 5: 38-48 [We are called to raise the bar of Christian living -

no revenge, go the second mile, give and love our enemies.]

Gospel Acclamation: Alle-Alle-Alleluia (Music: Fr. Richard Holung)

Sermon: Rev. Kenute Francis

RESPONSE TO THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD

Priest: Let us confess our faith as we say together, the Apostles Creed All: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived

by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He

suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.

He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He

ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the

communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of

the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE: Leader: In peace, let us pray to the Lord. Almighty God, we pray for your church in all the world. Make

your church secure upon the foundation of Christ,

All: End the divisions that rend our communion and bring us to

unity of mission for the sake of the gospel.

6

Leader: (The Prayer Intentions). For our pastors, teachers, and ministers. Bless the servants of your church, especially our bishop Geoffrey, our priests

Confession and Absolution

Priest: God declares, you shall be holy, for I your God am holy. Trusting in

your commandments. We have not provided for the poor or aided

the disabled. We have not been truthful in our daily business; we

have been unjust in our judgment of others. We have sought

vengeance against our enemies; we have not loved our neighbors as

ourselves. Forgive us our sins and rouse us to sincere repentance.

By the power of your Holy Spirit, free us to live as your holy people

with Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. Priest: Almighty God, have mercy upon …through Jesus Christ our Lord.

THE LITURGY OF THE SACRAMENT

2. Offertory Hymn: Love Each Other

All the room was hushed and still

And when the bowl was filled He stooped to wash their feet

And when it was complete, he said

This is what I'm asking you to do

This is why I'm kneeling here beside you

This is what I want my church to be This is what I want the world to see - Who it is you follow.

Love each other - One another

Love each other - In the way that I have loved you

Walk together - And whatever comes

Love each other - In the way that I have loved you

Let the room be hushed and still

Let us go to where he kneels

And join him as he serves

And learn his ways of love.

This is what I'm asking you to do This is why I'm kneeling here beside you

This is what I want my church to be

This is what I want the world to see - Who it is you follow. Prayer over The Gifts:

All: Merciful God, accept all we offer you this day. Lead us to love you

with all our heart and to love all people with your perfect love. We

ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Eucharistic Prayer

Priest: The Lord be with you.

All: And also with you. Priest: Lift up your hearts.

All: We lift them to the Lord. Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

All: It is right to give our thanks and praise. Priest: It is right, it is good, and it is joyful to give thanks to you, bright shining

God, inner light of all faithful souls. We celebrate your gifts of love,

creation, and art. We rejoice that you have made us in your image and

call us to live in your limitless love. You bring peoples and leaders to the dawn of your rising. You sent your only child, our morning star, to light

a way in our night and lead us to justice and peace. Your Holy Spirit

shines good news into our lives.
