Prayer Closet Revival Seven Days of Fasting and Prayer Revival is a mysterious and sovereign work of God in which He visits His own people, restoring, reanimating and releasing them to complete the ministry of Jesus Christ before He returns. Revival is more than a word to define. Revival is to be experienced and embraced. Revival begins with a heart-cry from the soul for God. We are setting aside one week of prayer and fasting to cry-out to God with expectation in our secret place for Him to shift and change our lives and community for His Glory. Please consider what you will fast from for it is a personal decision between you and God. Fast suggestions: 1. Fast from food until 6 P.M. daily 2. Fast from sweets and meats 3. Fast from social media, or TV. Next we ask you to commit to pray for one hour a day for revival for our church and region. We will break the fast together with dinner on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Germantown Baptist Church in the Faith Building at 5:00 p.m. Following dinner we will have a time of corporate worship, thanksgiving and prayer. Below you will find a suggested prayer guide. If you feel God leading you to go in another direction of prayer, please follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Each day we will follow the same format of worship, thanksgiving, ministering to God and suggested prayer points. The first three elements stay the same each day. The prayer points change daily. Worship: Find your favorite worship song(s) to begin your time with the Lord. (5-10 minutes) Thanksgiving: Thank God for our great salvation and all He has done in your life. Think about your day and identify things that you can thank God for. Read psalm 118:1-29 Ministering to God: Tell the Lord who He is to you each day. Speak to Him about His goodness and person. Commend Him for His marvelous works. Focus on who God is and not what He can do. Acts 13:2; read Psalm 148:1-14; Psalm 84:1-12 January 1, 2015 Revival in Me Prayer Points: Ask God for deep conviction of specific sin and clear spiritual discernment. Psalm 139:23 • Acknowledge your sin before God. Take personal responsibility. Confess and repent each specific sin. II Chronicles 7:14 Ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you with His Love. Ephesians 3:18 Ask the Holy Spirit how you have grieved Him with disobedient behavior and repent. Ephesians 4:22-32 Ask the Most High God to abide in you and you abide in Him. John 15:4 Ask the Father to fill you with the Holy Spirit so that you may speak with boldness about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Acts 4:31

January 3, 2015 Separate our Preferences from Unchanging Truth Prayer Points: Pray that Christ’s followers stand in the days of hardships and not look like the world (and demonstrate God’s power). 2 Timothy 3:1-5

• Pray that we accept all of God’s word and strive to obey it even when it goes against culture and our mindset. John 6:51-59; 1 Corinthians 6:9-12

• Pray that the status quo of Christianity gets back to 1st century faith. Acts 2:37-47• Ask the Lord to expose areas where you have allowed preference to trump biblical truth. Repent

and ask God to help your unbelief. Mark 9:24; John 10:38

January 4, 2015 Praying for the Presence of God to Come Prayer Points: • Focus your mind on God and ask Him for His peace believing that He is faithful to come.

January 6, 2015 Revival for the Region Prayer Points:• Pray that believers in our region will imitate Christ, and that we become an example to others.

1 Thessalonians 1:7-8• Pray that Holy Spirit empowers us to share the message of Christ and that it spreads

throughout the region. Acts 13:48-52• Pray that we are unified as believers in this region and that we help promote the word of God.

Acts 11:20-25• Pray that the Holy Spirit prepares our hearts to go and teach the good news to our region.
