Industry Institute Interaction Summit Industry Institute Interaction Summit was held on July 16, 2016 at Pravara Rural Engi-

neering College campus at Loni, under the aegis of Pravara Rural Education Society. The Indus-

try Summit was marked by the presence of Dr. V. S. Sapkal, Chairman of All India Board of

Post Graduate Education and Research in Engineering and Technology and Mr. Prakash

Deshmukh, Ex. Director Hindustan Aeronautics limited, Nashik.

Several Heads and representatives of Industry participated in the day-long interaction,

including Alpha Laval, SAJ Test Plant Pune, Catapharma Pvt. Ltd., EATON, NCL Pune ,KSH

International Pvt. Ltd Pune, Advisian Worley Parsons Group Qatar, Praj Industries Ltd. Pune,

Hoganas India Pvt Ltd, Precision ltd, Prabhat Dairy,Pune were amongst the many major indus-

tries participated in the event.

Speaking during the event, Dr. Ashok Vikhe Patil, Executive Chairman of the Society

remarked, "Interaction with the Industry experts will be helpful in developing model curricula

and match to the industry expectations. This Summit will address the significance of research to

be developed on lines of global challenges facing the industry."

The event explored entire gamut of issues relating to the present and future challenges

of finding quality manpower for the Industry. Dr. V. S Sapkal noted that the valuable inputs

from industry heads and thought provoking interaction between academics and industrialists

would contribute towards formulating an acceptable and feasible policy which will shape the

future of postgraduate education in the country.

Maj Gen Neeraj Bali, CEO (Designate), Pravara Rural Education Society extended the

Vote of Thanks to the Chair person, industrialists and academics for their participation. He ap-

preciated Principal Pravara Rural Engineering college Dr. R.S Jahagirdars’ efforts in leading and

organising the IIIS summit and turning it into a noteworthy success.

Free Open Source Software (FOSS) Center Inaugural at Pravara

The FOSS Center for Ahmednagar District and Resource Center For Spoken Tutorial, an outcome of PREC’S collaboration with Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay, was inaugurated by Dr. Dharmarajan Iyer ,President, Iyer Environmental Group, PLLC,USA and Mrs Radhika Iyer, MS, Juris Doctorate, USA.

This Resource Center will conduct training on software and technologies like Linux, LaTeX, Scilab, PHP&

MySQL, Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, OpenFOAM, Blender, Orcad, Oscad and K-Turtle. The training will

be self paced which will help the student to learn effectively. The training is funded by the Govt. of India

which means it comes at No Additional Cost to the student.

The students will receive guidance and support from the expert faculty at PREC throughout their training.

Once they finish learning they are eligible to take an online assessment test. On successful completion and

clearing the test, passing marks of which are decided by the test conducting authority, students are eligible to

receive Spoken Tutorial Projects, IIT Bombay Certificates.

40th school Commemoration Day, Guru Purnima and Investiture Ceremony of Pravara High School ,

Kolhar was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 19th July 2016. This was followed by felicitation of First Three

rankers of Std. 10th of the batch 2015-2016 and their parents.

This was followed by felicitation of the Chief guest, Principal and all other teachers by Std. 10th

students. Students expressed their love and gratitude towards their teachers through their speeches.

Investiture ceremony followed the Guru Purnima celebrations.The Chief Guest, Mrs Neeti Bali, Director English

Medium Schools, decorated the Head Boy Mast. Yash Shivaji Chindhe with cap and epaulettes. Principal, Mr. S

K More, decorated the Head Girl Miss. Pranjal Rajesh Shinde. Rest of the appointments were decorated by the

Vice Principal Mrs. Swati Tushar Lokhande , Mrs. S R Tambe and respective House-masters.

The NSS Unit (Unit), under the patronage of Savitribai Phule Pune University,

annually presents awards for Excellence to the College, NSS Program Officer and

NSS Volunteer at District Level.

This year Padmashree Vikhe Patil College of Arts, Science and Commerce has

been awarded the First Prize in recognition of the outstanding work carried out by

the college’s NSS unit in the Ahmednagar District.

Special Campaign organized under National Service Scheme for Academic

Year 2015-16

A Special NSS Camp was organised in collaboration with Padmashri Vikhe

Patil College of Art’s, Science and Commerce, Pravaranagar and NSS Depart-

ment, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune in academic year 2015-16 at Du-

ragapur, Tal- Rahata, Dist- Ahmednagar from 13th to 19th Dec. 2015. The main

theme of the camp was ‘Clean and Healthy India Campaign’.

KARGIL VIJAY DIVAS

The war that lasted about two months was fought mainly in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kash-mir between India and Pakistan. Both sides lost many soldiers and the war came to an end on Ju-ly 26, 1999. The Indian Army fought valiantly and took control of the posts that had been illegally occupied by Pakistani intruders. Homage to Kargil Martyrs are paid in the Kargil-Dras sector and Amar Jawan Jyoti located at India Gate, New Delhi. PVP Sainik School, Loni paid homage to the martyrs and observed 2 minutes silence in their honour. Cadet Mahendra Deokar and Cadet Souming Chaughande gave speech in English and Hindi, respectively.

One Day Seminar on “Government Dues/Taxes and its Provisions” was organized on August

6,2016 at the Seminar Hall , Dr. Kalam PG Building , PVP College,Loni.

STUDENTS VISIT TO PIRENS

Students of Std IX to XII from PCPS visited KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA Babhaleshwar on 30 July 2016. They were taken around the complete area of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. The students learnt and observed from the different things they saw there. The Drum Stick Farm and Guava Orchard were of special interest as they were given an opportunity to plant some drum stick seeds. Methods to stop soil erosion, the lemon nursery, animal fodder grown especially for use during dry season and soil testing were some of the other activities wit-nessed by them. Mr. Sachin Loknar, Community Organizer from PIRENS guided the students.

Spirulina – the wonder drug kept them glued to listening and observing the growing methodology.

DEMONSTRATION ON ‘ROAD SAFETY’

July 13,2016: Pravara Central Public School organized a demonstration on ‘Road Safety’. Mr. Padmakar

Bhalekar, RTO inspector, explained the students on why it is necessary to observe Road Safety Rules, side

effects of not following them and the charges which can be pressed against an individual on non

observance of rules. The necessary precautions to avoid road accidents were shown through video clips.

He also explained the students that many accidents can be avoided if one wears a helmet while driving

two wheelers and fastens the seat belt whilst travelling in a four- wheeler. The Students learned a lot

from it and promised to observe all Road Safety Rules and Precautions.
