The Lord always supplies our need. Mr. Tom

well,

Kathleen
has successfully completed the eight
weeks summer course
at the U. of Michigan's,

Japanese students who were also studying on campus and
to
encourage a few Japa nese Christians.
A candid
observer suggested
to
one of our missionaries that Since the work in Japan is
quite difficult,
why not
leave
it
for awhile, hoping that
future reception
will be better? . We
refer you, in reply,
to
the enclosed picture of a man's field which old age forced him to leave
standing
idle this year. How can a

where His good seed hasbeen sown

Dear friends,
The greatest event of
all
human hist ory took place about
1977
years
ago. Namely,
The WORD
was
GOD and the WORD became
man
and
lived
for a time among us, and we viewed His glory - such glory as the only-be
gotten
Son receives
from
His
Father
-
abounding
in grace
and truth."
(John l:l,l4 Berkeley)
This world has
not been
the
same since that
day.
In
His day,
doctors
lost their patients to His healing power. Sinners learned for the first
time about God's
loving
forgiveness. Even
His
disciples
were
shaken to
realize that
our
attonement demanded His death.
But God,
the
Father's
seal
upon
His life and ministry came when
He
called Jesus out
of
the tomb
on that glorious third day.
Praise
God
this
age old
'Good News report'
still
speaks
to people
here in Japan, 6000 miles from
the
place of His
birth. Though
adults
forbid
the
children
from
coming, they
still
hear Him say,
"Forbid them
not".
In
spite
of material prosperity
many young
persons
agree with
Jesus'
state
ment
of man's
real
need when He said, A
man's
life consisteth not in the
abundance of things
which he
possesses". Mature Japanese regret that
the
very thing
their
nation needs is spiritual basis which they do not have.
