Buddha Nature and the Pile of Shit
Master Choa Kok Sui
Achieving Oneness with the Higher Soul
There was once a dharma master by the name of Master Fo Yin
who lived in china. Dharma means truth or teaching. The
Darma
Master had a friend named Su Dong Po (A.D. 1037 1101) who was
an
infamous poet, because he was well known for being rude and
abrasive.
One day, the poet sat down and
tried to look like Buddha. He asked
the dharma master, who do I look
like? You look like Buddha
answered Master Fo Yin. The poet
then said, Do you know what you
look like? you look like a pile of
shit! The dharma master was not
disturbed at all. He was still
smiling. Unnerved, the poet asked,
how come youre not angry? The
monk said, For a person who has
experienced his Buddha nature, he
sees the Buddha nature in
everyone. For a person who is full
of shit, he sees everybody as a pile
of shit.

Pride is an obstacle to spiritual growth.
It is a manifestation of inaccurate
perception and incorrect expression, and
shows a lack of self esteem. Use your
heart and head. Throw away your pride.
Pride is one of the last weaknesses to go.
