VOA’s 2013-2014 officers: Cathie Seebauer: V.P of Administration, Maddy Kangas: President, Kelsey Greene: V.P of Com- Putt-Putt a HIT The first meeting of the year turned out to be a hit, with an attendance of 23 Venturers . Officers had a chance to meet some new members and welcome an up and coming crew to our Council. The meeting started with everyone introducing themselves and then splitting into teams to play some putt putt. Unfortunately our President, Maddy Kangas and Venturer Lauren Murray were eaten by a whale.. Maddy Kangas: President Freshman at UIUC Studying Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences “My career goal: become a super hero and save the world.” Cathie Seebauer: V.P of Administrations Sophomore at Saint Thomas More “I’m going to be a professional unicorn herder. Meet Your 2013-2014 VOA Prairielands Council Officers! Mary Campbell: V.P of Programs Senior at University High School “I like Criminal Minds!” Kelsey Greene: V.P of Communications Freshman at Parkland/ UIUC Studying Social Work “ I watch Korean Dramas and Bollywood on Netflix.. A lot.”

us in exploring the

wonders of different

STEM fields and earn

your NOVA award,

Launch!, on November

23 from 11-3:30. Discover

the wonders of space, build

a catapult and find a satel-

lite. Cost is $3 and lunch is

provided. Place is to be de-

termined at the October

through September and

Venturing events are abun-

dant! Looking for the right

event to make THIS Sep-

tember spectacular? Try

out the 40th annual Fall

Fun Rally!

It is one of the biggest Ven-

turing events in the coun-

try, hosting 1,100 Ventur-

ing youth on the weekend

of September 27-29 at the

Beaumont Scout Reserva-

tion in Missouri.

Activities include climbing,

dancing, capture the flag,

shooting sports, horseback

riding, and so much more.

There is an activity for eve-

ryone!

Not interested in high ad-

venture activities? There are

plenty of trainings being offered

as well. Take the Introduction

to Leadership Skills for Crews

course on Sunday morning, or

various courses ranging from

VOAs to Photography through-

out the weekend.

and exciting things? Learn how recruiting can help you
