POST SHOW REPORT
Co-Organiser Organiser
Dear Friends,
We are pleased to inform you that the Krishi India 2018 expo and the Wellness India 2018 expo welcomed an impressive number of exhibitors, sponsors, delegates, speakers and visitors. There has been substantial feedback on the expos, which would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the Government of India, and the enthusiasm and dedication from the participants, who gathered this year for three days of education, collaboration and to find new businesses.
Showcasing innovation, the trade fair was organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Exhibitions India Group (EIG). To our delight, both Krishi India and Wellness India expos are being dubbed as the perfect gateways to healthy living, and not without reason!
Krishi India expo supports the Government of India’s mission to double farmers’ incomes by 2022 by linking them to identified markets. Having a very clear set of aims and objectives, the expo targets to establish a linkage between farmer producer organisations (FPOs), which consist of mainly small and marginal farmers, and multinational companies and retail chains. These FPOs that act as knowledge delivery institutions for farmers, provide necessary inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, machinery, technology, etc., and market linkages for the farm produce.
By bringing together FPOs and multinational companies on the same platform, the expo has the potential to build viable economies of scale and a fresh farm produce supply chain, which is competent enough to service global and domestic health and wellness consumers.
Health and wellness consumers, especially millennials, who make up 47% of the Indian working population, are seeking new ways to stay fit and eat healthy. Being highly proactive health and wellness advocates, they consider quality food, which is nutritious, fresh and less processed, as one of the pillars of wellness.
The 2018 edition of the expos sets an ideal stage for agriculture and wellness sectors to launch new products, establish collaborations and discuss a wide range of subjects that promote knowledge exchange to maintain the country’s position in the global market.
Leading manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and other stakeholders, with profound skills, in agriculture and wellness sectors, showcased the latest technologies, innovations and best practices to a large audience in Pragati Maidan from 20-22 August 2018.
16 multidisciplinary conference sessions, delivered by 88 speakers, and 4 hands-on workshops, conducted by renowned experts, opened participants’ minds to different ways of healthy living.
The presentations addressed the shifting demands, as well as the current challenges in the agri, organics, health and biotechnology arena.
This post show report summarises the 2018 edition of Krishi India expo and Wellness India expo, and gives an overview of its attendees and content.
We look forward to welcoming you to Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, next August, to further overcome the challenges facing 21st century agriculture and healthcare sectors, and offer sustainable and innovative solutions to better serve future generations.
Best Regards

KRISHI INDIA 2018 EXPO
The Krishi India Expo's objective is to develop rural areas and empower small and marginal farmers. The participants discussed opportunities to build a stronger rural India through better policies and best practices. They examined the impact of new technologies on crop quality and production. Intense deliberations took place on best practices within the public and private sectors. The expo proved that strong linkages between dynamic, efficient agribusiness and smallholder farmers can reduce rural poverty.
The Wellness India Expo brought together leaders and visionaries to positively impact and shape the future of the wellness industry. The three-day event was a mix of informative and inspiring presentations and subject-specific panels. Practical workshops on quick fitness tricks, Yoga, Tarot as a healing modality, and more were extremely popular, while enabling audiences to learn in a hands-on way. Wellness India expo started a new conversation about people’s health and wellbeing with focus on Yoga, Ayurveda, health and wellness products and services, including organic and biotech solutions.

I am pleased to extend my congratulations to the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Exhibitions India Group for organizing the Wellness India 2018 expo and the co- located Krishi India 2018 expo at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from 20-22 August, 2018.
India is perhaps the only country in the world with a separate ministry of traditional medicine which ref lects the government’s commitment towards development of AYUSH sector three fold over the next five years.
The Ministry of AYUSH is trying to achieve comprehensive integration of AYUSH in the health services. Through the Ministry of AYUSH, we are not only promoting developmental activities of traditional medicine at the national level but also looking at more international cooperation and collaboration opportunities at bilateral, multi lateral, regional and global levels. In this direction, declaration of 21st June as International Day of Yoga by the United Nations has generated global interest for yoga as well as cooperation opportunities for exchange of Yoga information, expertise and qualified, certified and accredited Yoga trainers. Similarly, through our collaboration agreement with the WHO we intend to develop AYUSH technical guidelines and documents for the benefit of member countries.
The Government is following a multi pronged strategy, including signing of MoUs and agreements with a large number of countries, collaborative research and academic activities and offering international scholarship in AYUSH among others.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to hike the minimum support price of Kharif crops shows that the BJP government is committed to empower farmers and double their income by 2022.
May we wish you every success in the forthcoming exhibition.
Shri Shripad Yasso Naik Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSHGovernment of India
Like the multifaceted culture in our county, traditional medicines have evolved over centuries blessed with a plethora of traditional medical practices. Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems in the world. It is a science of life that takes an integrated view of the physical, mental, spiritual and social aspects of human beings, each impinging on the
others. The treatment in the Ayurveda system is holistic and individualized having two components - preventive and curative. To resolve the problem of unpredictable nature of farming, the Government launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
in early 2016.This crop insurance policy has minimum premium rates on the principal sum insured for farmers. Implemented with a
budget of Rs. 17,600 crore, this scheme will provide financial support to farmers and cover for their losses.Keeping in view the signification of traditional medicines and medical practices, the ITPO and the Exhibition India Group
is organising “Wellness India-2018 Expo” and the “Krishi India 2018 Expo” from 20th to 22nd August, 2018 in New Delhi.I hope that the Expo will deliberate and discuss all the different facets of these exciting topics and come up with
recommendations that will lead to a healthy and prosperous India.I extend my best wishes to the ITPO and Exhibitions India Group for grand success of the Expos.
Shri Suresh Prabhakar PrabhuHon’ble Minister for Commerce &Industry and Civil AviationGovernment of India
I am happy to learn that the Wellness India 2018 expo and Krishi India 2018 expo are being organized by the Exhibitions India Group in August 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
It is appreciable that the Wellness India Expo will focus on the innumerable benefits of living a balanced lifestyle, wholesome and healthy diets, wellness foods etc. I hope it will offer a great platform for the global wellness industry to exchange ideas and benefits from the holistic health perspective of our knowledge systems.
I understand that Krishi India Expo is aiming to provide a unique forum for various stakeholders to contribute towards sustainable advancement of our agriculture. I hope that the Expo will be a productive platform to take innovative solutions and technologies to our farmers, the real heroes of our nation.
I also hope that the expos will help our firms and related stakeholders to benefit from the emerging opportunities in respective sectors. I convey my best wishes for the successful organization of Wellness India and Krishi India Expos.
