Praetoria is an annual event held for the Georgia Junior ClassicalLeague. Unlike other GJCL events, Praetoria is focused more onleadership both within local school chapters and the GJCL as awhole. This event also serves as a springboard for expanding theGJCL in terms of active participation and in the number of eventsby establishing a foundation for regional groups. Membership inthe Georgia Junior Classical League is not required for Praetoriaparticipation. DATE: Saturday, September 28th - Sunday, September 29th LOCATION: Rock Eagle 4-H, Eatonton, GA COST: $20

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: September 13th, 2019 NUMBER OF SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVES:1 student (Committee members will chaperone) NB: We strongly recommend the representative be anunderclassman or someone who will be able to contribute to his orher school chapter and/or the GJCL in the future.

Step 1a. Fill in the registration form on the GJCL website, or athttps://tinyurl.com/praetoria2019b. Make sure that your candidates of different genders.c. Space at Rock Eagle is limited, so representatives shouldregister early.c. Registration deadline is September 13th, 2019 Step 2a. You will be notified of successful registration by email.b. Once notified, completely and accurately fill out thePermission/Media Release form and the Medical form at the endof this document. Please bring all forms and payment ($20) toPraetoria.c. Once registered you may make substitutions, provided that thesubstitute is of the same sex as the candidate they are replacing. Questions regarding Praetoria registration should be directed tothe GJCL 1st Vice President (vp@gjcl.org) or the Publicity Chair(membership@gjcl.org)

How to Register

Representatives will adhere to all Rock Eagle rules. Rock Eaglesecurity will be on duty 24 hours a day. Regulations in effectduring Praetoria are: 1. JCL delegates are not allowed to drive vehicles duringPraetoria.2. No delegate may leave the Rock Eagle site until the end ofPraetoria.3. The use or possession of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, illegaldrugs, weapons or fireworks is strictly prohibited. Possession ofalcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs or fireworks constitutes a majorinfraction of the rules, and delegates will be sent home at theirparents’ expense.4. Under no circumstances may window screens be removed.There will be a $25 removal charge.5. Any damage of Rock Eagle property is strictly prohibited.Disciplinary action will include financial remuneration for suchdamage or theft. All areas of the campus must be left in thesame condition as found on arrival.6. Members of the opposite sex are not permitted in the samecabins.7. All JCL representatives must be in their cabins at curfew.8. It is recommended that no valuables be brought to Rock Eagle,as there is no method for securing these items.9. Attendance at all events is mandatory for all delegates.10. Swimming is prohibited.11. Grills are not allowed on the Rock Eagle campus.

I. Each delegate to the Georgia Junior Classical League (GJCL)Praetoria is required to abide by all rules and regulations setforth in the GJCL Praetoria FAX, as well as to any and all localschool policies. Failure to abide by any of the rules may result inremoval from the GJCL. Praetoria at the sole discretion of theGJCL Committee and at the expense of the parent(s) or uardian(s). Additionally, a delegate may face further disciplinaryproceedings from his or her local schools. II. Further, each delegate acknowledges that by attending thePraetoria he or she may be recorded (by any video, sound,picture or any other means) and consent to such recordingsbeing used by the GJCL for the purpose of republishing orrebroadcasting. III. In accepting the aforementioned conditions the delegate: (i)releases theGJCL from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, nfringement of any right or any other claim or cause of action ofany kind; (ii) authorizes and permits the GJCL and its designees touse for any and all purposes his or her name, voice and likenessand all reproduction thereof in any and all forms and in all medianow or hereafter known in perpetuity; (iii) agrees to comply withall GJCL rules and regulations.
