Practice Work (Session 2019-20)
Longer days and shorter nights
Dark shades & brighter lights
Favourite music & best friends
Keep away pencils keep away pens.
Make these days the time of your life
And make the nights just as right
This time only comes once a year
So live it up without inhibition and fear.
FOR THE PARENTS
Summer vacations are here. A few vital suggestions are listed below to make the vacations
more exciting and fruitful than ever before:
Keep at least half an hour a day for sharing experiences with your child.
Encourage your child to speak in English and develop reading habits. Fix one hour in
a day when you communicate with your child only in English.
Tell your child different stories regularly and encourage them to describe what
he/she would do in a similar situation.
Let your child colour , draw, paint, play with water and sand etc.
Restrict his/her television watching, confining it to interesting children programs,
cartoon films, discovery channel etc.
To improve the handwriting, make your child write a page every day.
Develop self help skills: Let your child dress and feed on his/her own.
Make him/her understand the importance of cleaning his/her room and putting away
toys and belongings after use.
Take your child out for picnics and to other places of his/her interest. Ask him/her
to make a note of all the places he/she visits and the things he/she sees so that
he/she is able to discuss his/her experience in class after the vacations.
The teachers are trying to encourage the children to use simple words, phrases and
sentences like:-
May I go to play?
I have finished my work.
Madam, may I go to ease myself?
Madam, may I go to quench my thirst ?
Madam ,may I step in please?
Madam ,may I go to wash my hands?
Madam ,may I sit in the front row as I can‟t see from the back?
Madam, please repeat the question as I „m unable to understand it.
Madam, I have lost my shoes / blazer/ tiffin box/water bottle etc.
Madam, I came late as I missed my bus.
Madam , I‟m sorry . I have forgotten to bring my book, notebook, pencil
/eraser/ drawing book etc.
Madam, I „m sorry I couldn‟t complete my Home Work as I was unwell.
Madam, may I borrow a pencil / eraser/ ruler etc. From my partner as I‟ve
forgotten to bring it today.
I am sorry for the delay.
Could you hand me the book.
Could you please shut the door.
Use of magic words like excuse me, sorry, thanks, please.
When asking for something , say “Please”.
When receiving something, say “Thank you”.
Do not interrupt grown –ups who are
speaking with each other unless there
is is an emergency.
If you need to get somebody‟s
attention write away, the phrase
“excuse me” is the most polite way
for you enter the conversation.
When you have any doubt about doing
something, ask permission first. It
can save you from many hours of grief
later.
Dear Parents ,
Help your kids to complete the entire work in practice notebooks for
respective subjects.
