MediTouch EHR ® Release Notes 12.3.2013 You spoke, We listened! The December release shows our continued commitment to our clients’ requests while maintaining our eye on the future. This release includes three highly anticipated high profile features: Collections Module, Patient Centered Medical Home, and ICD9SNOMEDICD10 conversion tools. While MediTouch is already Stage 2 Meaningful Use Certified, we always want to make it as easy as possible to be compliant, thus we made 3 important structural changes to Orders and Order Results. The remaining feature updates were focused on client feedback to help with workflow efficiency. CollectionsMediTouch is proud to release the Collections module.  Create rules to flag patient balances and assign them to work lists forfollow­up.  Detailed Collections instructions will be available in a separate Help document.

1-click option to Finalize a Denied ClaimThis convenient feature will move claims from DENIED to FINALIZED in 1 quick click.  Prior to this release, users were required torepost to the claim in order for the status to be changed.  We had a number of requests for this feature and we listened!

NDC on Paper ClaimsPrior to this release two data entry points were required for NDC codes depending on whether the claim was being sent on paper orelectronically.  With this claim enhancement only one NDC entry is required:  always use the Drug Info NDC electronic data entrypoint. If the claim is printed, the NDC code will be placed in the shaded area above the service line.  Many of our billers have beenrequesting this feature and we listened!

Character Limit Increase on Payment NotesThe Payment Note field has been increased to accommodate lengthier notes. The field length has been increased to 250 characters.

Chart Number and Provider Added to Billing SlipsThese additions have been recommended by a long time Podiatry office in Indiana!  The Chart number was added to the top leftcorner and the Provider Association (#4 Associations in Patient Registration) was added under the renamed calendar “Resource.”

EHR Updates

Patient Centered Medical HomeThis highly anticipated module includes a number of great features to help your practice achieve compliance.  The complete modulewill be released by 12.12.2013 and detailed release notes will be available soon.

ICD9-SNOMED-ICD10 Conversion ToolThe industry is going to see two major coding system changes in 2014: SNOMED and ICD10.  Meaningful Use Stage 2 requires thatProblem Lists be coded in SNOMED and beginning October 1st 2014 diagnosis coding will require ICD10.  The Problem ListICD9­to­SNOMED and ICD9­to­ICD10 mapping tool has been available for over a year to provide our users with the means to preparefor these coding system changes and is now enhanced to provide greater functionality.

Problem ListAdding a problem to a Problem List will now require a SNOMED code. Users can still use an ICD9 or ICD10 search to lookup theproblem however the SNOMED selection will also be required. MediTouch has made every effort to provide 1­to­1 code mappings foreach of the coding systems to make this as easy as possible.

Encounter: Diagnosis CodingDiagnosis Coding can now be documented using either ICD9 or ICD10.  The tool offers automatic translation of diagnosis panels fromICD9 to the ICD10 equivalents as well as SNOMED­to­ICD9 and SNOMED­to­ICD10 translation.   Keep a look out for our enhancedICD10 TREE conversation tool to be launched early next year!

In-Office Radiology Orders & Quick ResultsMeaningful Use Stage 2 requires 30% of Radiology Orders to be “Ordered” electronically.  Clients will continue to use the Orders:Radiology form for external orders but the new “In­Office” Facility option on the form permits clients that perform radiology in­office tostill get credit for the measure.   The In­Office option will help clients convert to this workflow, but still maintain efficiency.   For anyoffice using Custom Forms in the Office Procedures section for “Radiology” orders please move these forms to Test Results page bynext year.

A checkbox has been implemented to accommodate the In­Office scenario and eliminates the need to select an external Facility.

A “Create Order & Result” button has been added to the order form as a shortcut that creates the order and navigates to the Resultsscreen for documenting the results immediately which reduces the number of required clicks.

*At the time of this MediTouch release the CPT code will need to be manually added to the Procedure Coding section of theencounter. In the next MediTouch release, if In­Office is check marked the CPT code will automatically transfer.

Office and CPOE for Lab OrdersRelated to the Radiology requirements, 30% of Lab Orders need to be “Ordered” electronically.  This feature will allow clients to utilizethe Orders: Lab form even if an electronic connection is not established.

Office Procedures Search OptionTo help simplify the process of locating Office Procedures a convenient search option has been introduced.

MediDraw Increase in the Number of Allowed Image AttachmentsPrior to this release clients were limited to 2 image attachments in the Physical Exam.  This has been increased to permit up to 10images and each can be annotated using MediDraw and presented in the Clinical Summary.

Cosigner Displayed on Exported EncounterWe had a number of requests for this enhancement and understand how important it is.  The left margin will be maintained as theSigner name and the right margin will display the Cosigner when exporting the clinical summary to PDF or fax.

Document Library Additions: Social Hx and OrdersAs always we want to make the Document Library as robust as possible.  This release offers 2 anticipated additions to this feature:Social Hx and Orders.  For orders, we have options for Orders placed, Order History and Order Results.   Please note that OrderHistory and  Results will only come from encounter associations.  PDF results would need to be printed separately.

Custom Form FlagA check mark icon has been provided on Custom Tab and Form buttons to help users identify which tabs and forms contain savedinformation.

Vitals page enhancementThis release offers two great changes our clients have requested for the vitals page.

Select All option for quick selection for graphing and growth chart purposes.

Delete option added for individual entries

Patient Portal Self PayThe requirement for a Self Pay insured ID number has been removed.
