PRACTICAL BOVINE ULTRASONOGRAPHY
This course on bovine ultrasonography, is farm and classroom based and involves a maximum of 4 delegates.
The organisers' combined experience brings in knowledge and images from the UK, Canada, US, New Zealand and Europe. Enhance your understanding on how ultrasound examinations are carried out in the UK and abroad.
We shall discuss:
• Stages of the oestral cycle: Pre-oestrus, Oestrus, Met-oestrus and Di-oestrus
• Pregnancy diagnosis and ageing the foetus, from early to mid to late
• Gender determination and identifying twins
• Foetal and dam reproductive anomalies
• Beyond rectal examinations to aiding your clinical diagnosis.

Tutor’s biography
Sotirios Karvountzis qualified in 1994, from the Veterinary School of the University of Thessalonica, Greece.
He is a cattle practitioner, with main interest in cattle fertility, genomic benchmarking, reproductive and abdominal surgery, hoof health, mastitis, bull and ram semen testing, pathology and ruminant nutrition.
He is tirelessly working in introducing endoscopic and ultrasonic applications to farm animal practices.
As a LANTRA Freelance Instructor, City & Guilds NPTC Assessor and CowSignals Master Trainer is involved with farmer and vet training in the UK and abroad.
