Film Film Scripting:

A film script is designed for the cast to follow, it is structured so it can be easily edited if need be. The text is formatted to show the characters name and their speech or dialogue. It will also include stage directions for actions. The ‘Slugline’ explains where the scene is being filmed. The scene includes all the dialogue and action that is filmed at that location.

Television

Television scripting has a similar format to film but with television we have to make time for adverts. The pace of television writing is much faster than film writing, because there’s a continuous need to keep up with production. When presenting live television the presenter would have to read from an autocue rather than a script.

Video

The video scripting is set up two columns because they have one column for audio and the other video. This way they know where they are with the song and video at the same time.

Radio

Radio Scripting

Setup a bit like a film script with named people speaking and a note for how long the speech should be. There are instructions for cueing music tracks, cutting to the DJ, jingles and sound levels. It is timed to show when to cut in adverts and on the hour news items.

Worldwide Web

Writing online is very different from composing and constructing content for printed materials. Web users tend to scan text instead of reading it closely, skipping what they see to be unnecessary information, and hunting for what they respect as most relevant. It is estimated that seventy-nine percent of users scan web content. Blog writing is another form of online writing that differs from traditional print articles. A blog can range in style and topic, but is usually written somewhat informally to educate or inspire readers. Many businesses rely on blogs to promote their product or service, and many individuals use blogs to write about topics important to them personally or politically.
