Honey is a great natural sweetener and medicinal food, which is rich in nutrients and

health benefits. This study recapitulates the effects of honey on obese induced rats.

Furthermore, the present investigation proved that Gelam honey possesses lipid

lowering and antioxidative effects in obese induced rats, as well as its weight-reducing

ability compared to Acacia honey. However, both honey types showed better effects

compared to orlistat, a drug used to control obesity. Due to the promising effects of

honey in diet induced obesity, further investigation is important in order to determine

the active compounds in honey followed by identifying the probable mechanisms of

action of honey in reducing plasma lipid and its weight maintenance property

CONCLUSIONSL’apithérapie scientifique contemporaine a un grand avenir comme

Technique de soin complémentaire

Comme source de molécules thérapeutiques issue pour une part de l’abeille :

venin et ses dérivés, constituants cellulaires de l’hémolymphe, peptides anti-

microbiens, flore digestive propre , de ses production: gelée royale, cire et de

ses récoltes : miels, propolis, pollens

Les produits issus de la ruche à l’état naturel ou leurs dérivés sont utilisés dans la

pharmacopée actuelle et à venir.

Ils interviendront efficacement dans le traitement des maladies de système, les cancers,

les pathologies dégénératives neurologiques, ophtalmologiques, gastro-entérologiques,

infectieuses, psychiatiques etc.

Comme Avicenne dans sa pharmacopée avait plus de 50 préparations à

base de miel et 47 électuaires et oxymels, la pharmacologie actuelle utilise

et utilisera encore d’avantage les ressources de la ruche des abeilles et des
