FAITH is being sure of what we hope for.
It is being certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1
Jesus Calms the Storm
The disciples had been hanging out with Jesus for sometime. They had seen and heard amazing things. They knew He was special, but they weren’t yet sure that He was the Son of God.
"Teacher! Don't you care if we drown? - Mark 4:37-38
Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm. - James 1:6b
PRINCIPLE 1: Without faith, fear controls the mind and what will follow is distrust.
He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down. And it was completely calm. - Mark 4:39
PRINCIPLE 2: DETERMINE the object of your faith - LORD JESUS CHRIST.
God said, "Let there be light." And there was light. -Genesis 1:3
The voice of the Lord is powerful. The voice of the Lord is majestic. - Psalm 29:4
Listen for His voice (John 10:27). He will speak to you in the stillness of your heart (Psalm 46:10).
Faith is being sure of what we hope for.
It is being certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1
PRINCIPLE 3: GET TO KNOW the object of your faith - LORD JESUS CHRIST through consistent intake of Bible doctrine.
Jesus said to His disciples,
"Why are you so afraid? Don't you have
any faith at all yet?”
Mark 4:40
PRINCIPLE 4: Fear and Faith CANNOT occupy the same space.
PRINCIPLE 5: Trials cause our faith to grow.
If we FOCUS our FAITH in who and what GOD is, then fear departs from
our mind.
