PPD Secretariat Building Complex – a glance
Partners in Population and Development (PPD) is an international inter-governmental organization of 26 developing countries from across Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America representing nearly 60% of the world population. PPD is headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has Permanent Observer Status at the UN General Assembly and Diplo-matic Status in Geneva and in Bangladesh. PPD has a : • Regional Office in Kampala-Uganda• Program Office in Taicang-China• Liaison Office to the UN in New York and Bangkok • Diplomatic Mission in Geneva-Switzerland.
PPD is the only international inter-govern-mental organization with its headquarters located in a developing country, Bangladesh. Hosting the headquarters of this prestigious organization, the Government of Bangladesh has generously donated land in Sher-E-Ban-gla Nagar for constructing PPD’s Secretariat Building Complex.

The PPD building is located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar within a government classified admi-nistrative zone, the master plan of which was designed by Mr. Louis Isadore Kahn, the inter-nationally acclaimed legendary American Architect.PPD Secretariat will be housed amidst selec-ted government offices, the UN Building, ADB and World Bank Offices, and the Bangladesh Parliament. The building under construction consists of 6 floors. PPD Secretariat will be housed on the ground floor and first floor. Additional office spaces available from 2nd to 5th floors will be rented out only to UN Agencies and selected International Organizations.
