Polyplus-transfection started in 2001 to market transfection products developed in the lab of Dr. Jean-Paul Behr, who is considered one of the preeminent transfection researchers in the world. Seminal work was published in 1989 on the use of polycationic lipids for the use of transfection (1) that led to several still popular transfection reagents. The next advancement in this fi eld is associated with Polyethylenimine (PEI), a cationic polymer. PEI was discovered as an improved transfection reagent in 1995 (2) and its associated «proton sponge» transfection paradigm is at the root of many modern transfection reagents.
Polyplus-transfection continues its strong tradition of scientifi c excellence and innovation offering the best reagents for delivery of nucleic acids in the market today.
