PowerSchool Student Information System The Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools has selected Pearson’s PowerSchool as its new web-based student information system (SIS). While many Archdiocesan schools have implemented on-line grading and parent communication systems, we feel that PowerSchool will be robust enough for system-wide expansion. In addition to the value- added for parents, it gives schools the tools to document student academic progress. Through its robust set of communication tools, PowerSchool will provide access to secure, real-time student information through a web browser – effectively creating an interactive dialogue between parents, student and teachers. Resources that the Office of Catholic Schools will provide: 1. Extensive, free training for the primary school contact, administrators, support staff and teachers, 2. Problem help desk, 3. Live, person-to-person training as well as distance learning training, 4. Coordination of standardizing report cards, attendance reports, progress reports, etc. 5. School set-up and PowerSchool installation. Resources that your school will provide: 1. Your budget should include a one-time, $2500 setup fee and $10 per student/year maintenance fee, 2. Have or will identify a Primary School Contact(s) who will be accessible throughout the spring and summer months via phone and/or email, 3. Have staff available during May and June to enter school and student data into an acceptable data format or to work with experts to covert any existing electronic database into an acceptable format, 4. Collaborate with the OCS Project Team to schedule training for school personnel, 5. Give timely feedback on formats for school reports, 6. Be willing to attend or send a representative to a kick-off meeting.
