Every minutes, 20 people are victims of domestic violence

1 out of 4 women will be involved in domestic violence

Domestic violence happens more than 145 times each hour in the U.S.

3 million+ children witness domestic violence every year

Third leading cause of homelessness among families in the United

States (Domestic, 2014).

In 2013, the Dallas Police Department Family Violence Unit reported

13,007 family violence calls:

1,215 aggravated assaults

23 murders

10,812 reported offenses

91 sexual assault offenses

180 violations of protective orders

5,782 arrests.

Time Homeless Count:

14% of the adult population listed domestic violence

as their reason for homelessness

24% of the children listed domestic violence as their

reason for homelessness

Why Us?

Families are gathered together playing games or watching TV while eating a Frito-Lay’s chip bag.

It’s almost at every party and is a symbol for a

family sharing in each other’s happiness.

Domestic violence destroys the family environment that we try to promote.

We want to make sure that people are more aware of domestic violence, and encourage

others to help prevent and report any instances.

By spreading awareness about domestic

violence, we hope to:

Improve family relationships

Reduce number of violent occurrences

Punched her old cold in an elevator

Whisked her away to the car without

anyone finding out

1. 2 game suspension (before video)

2. NFL commissioner banned Ray for

whole season and Baltimore Ravens

released him (after seeing video and

criticism that arose)

Mesquite, Texas about a wife

who was beaten by her

husband for five years. We have

asked The Play Company to

perform this story in honor of the

woman who had passed away

recently.

Dohme was critically injured in a brutal domestic violence

attack from her boyfriend.

She barely survived and went

back to school to complete

her nursing degree with a 4.0

GPA.

Dohme suffered from:

Sustained 32 deep stab wounds

Paralyzed left side of face

Fractured skill and nose

Knocked out teeth

Lost 12 units of blood

Flat lined 4 times

Couldn't’t tell she was blond because of all the blood

2. Each model will be depicted as an individual who has suffered from domestic violence

Frito-Lay’s goal for the fashion show will be to illustrate the extent to which domestic violence can impact a human and how they often remain silent.
