SINGING COMPETITION

Sing a song and dance to the rhythm of it. The kindergarteners of Cambridge International School, Phagwara were made to set the stage on glow by organizing a singing competition for them. The little ones gave sizzling and spellbound performances by enthralling the audience with their melodious voice. The aim of the competition was to bring out the inner talent of the students. This will help them to gain confidence over their talent. Their talents will thus be polished over time.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Republic day in India is celebrated every year with great pride on 26th of January to honor the Constitution of India as it came into force on the same day in the year 1950. This year celebrated the 69th Republic Day and so was celebrated at Cambridge International School, Phagwara on Thursday, the 25th January, 2018. The budding students of kindergarten took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. They wore tricolor attires to mark the occasion. The school auditorium reverberated with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. The kindergarteners brought the stage alive with their passion and love for the motherland.

LOHRI CELEBRATION

With the circle of fire, the surroundings are lighted up. The bright and fiery festival of Punjab, the popular wintery festival, Lohri is primarily celebrated in the Punjab subcontinent. This festival is celebrated to mark both celebration and sense of sharing. Cambridge International School, Phagwara celebrated Lohri in the school premises with a lot of exuberance and funfair. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The function started with a special assembly including delivering an influencing thought and topic highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushered in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the dull winter. Folk song and dance added the festive spirit in everyone and very well depicted the significance of this festival. Groundnuts, Popcorns etc. were also distributed among the students. Worthy Principal lit the sacred bonfire to initiate the celebration and wished everyone a very Happy Lohri. He also encouraged each one to value their cultural heritage.

OLYMPIAD AWARDS

Education is the license to the future. Tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. Live up to expectations and beyond. Live the life of your dreams. With hard work, perseverance and self-belief there is no limit to what you can achieve!! It has always been an endeavor of faculty at Cambridge International School, Phagwara to stimulate constructive competition among its students to bring out their best by joining hand with Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). SOF’s integrity and commitment towards the fulfillment of its objectives have been lauded by thousands of schools. Students of our school once again performed brilliantly. They have added another golden feather to the school's cap as they won international, state and zonal awards. Parth Mehta (Grade I) bagged International ranking 1 in International English Olympiad and got International Topper Gold Medal. Aanya Chadha (Grade II), Arisha Sadique Khan (Grade II) and Sumer Singh Minhaas (Grade IV) got a distinction medal in International General Knowledge Olympiad. Gold Medals were won by Maanvi, Veer Partap Sardana (Grade III) and Ishika Kalra (GradeV). Winner of Silver Medals were Shreya Sood (Grade 1), Sargun Kaur (Grade II), Mauli Gupta (Grade III), Tanveer Singh (Grade IV) and Hiten Kalucha (Grade V). Bronze Medal winners were Ishika (Grade I), Kanvi Kalucha (Grade III), Harjasleen (Grade IV) and Jayat Jain (Grade V). The Olympiad awardees for Grade VI to VIII were Muskan Mehra (Grade VI), Sidak Sidana (Grade VII), Kshitij Jassi (Grade VII), Gurnoor Aujla (Grade VIII) and Vaishali Prabhakar (Grade VIII). Medals were given to the class toppers as well. Respected Principal gave away the medals and appreciated the toil and determination of the budding stars. He also motivated other students to participate and emerge as winners and awardees.

INSPIRING EDUCATORS OF PUNJAB AWARD

Since the school has a leader of such great potential, the students are bound to reflect his qualities. The worthy Principal of Cambridge International School, Phagwara, Mr Jorawar Singh was awarded the Inspiring Educators of Punjab Award by Rock sport. The award function was organized at Hotel Radisson, Jalandhar. A total of 20 Principals from schools in Punjab graced the occasion as representatives of Progressive Schools. Principal Jorawar Singh was also one of the five members of the panel set for Educational Discussion. The theme of this discussion was Reinventing School. Our Principal Sir shared his opinion and views by adding that not just book education but sports and adventure also hold an important place in school education. This way, he opined, that students inculcate the qualities of Discipline, Patience and Determination in their personalities and make them into good citizens of the country. This award was a matter of pride for not just him but the entire staff.

‘PUNARJYOT GULDASTA’ MAGZINE LAUNCH

The major eye bank in the North of Punjab, the Punarjyot, released their magazine named Punarjyot Guldasta at Cambridge International School, Phagwara. The Punarjyot Society’s 25 years of service and a tribute to the eye donor families was commemorated in this magazine release. The famous personalities who were invited to release this magazine were the golden star Malkit Singh (Popular Punjabi Singer), special guest Sukhi Baath (Director, Punjab Bhawan, Canada) and melodious Singer Kaler Kanth (Punarjyot Ambassador). The Director of eye bank Punarjyot and the Chief Editor of Punarjyot Guldasta addressed the audience that the main motive of this release if to encourage more people for donating eyes, blood and limbs. The honorable secretary of Punarjyot, Subhash Malik, and Principal of CIS, Phagwara and their special invitees Mr Sanjeev Wasal (Chairman, I-League) and Mr Raghav wasal (Chief Operating Officer) welcomed all the guests. The school students presented a cultural program on the event. After the release, a special role was played by Punarjyot Coordinator Balvinder Heera, Paramjit Basra, Raj Kumar, Kamal Mehra, Happy Mahi and Sunny Baddhan. The program ended by the singing of National Anthem.
