Billboard Contents
• Billboard magazine is a mainstream pop magazine that predominantly focuses on chart music.
• The magazine targets people who are 21 and under
• A larger range of images is used which all relate to the articles, the images have page numbers on them so that the articles can be located easily.
• There is a large picture in the center of a man which connotes that he is more important and that the main article is about him.
• A cartoon picture had been used which signifies that the magazine appeals to a more immature audience.
• The house style has been maintained by using blue, yellow, green and red.
• A variety of fonts have been used, some of the subheadings are in serif but the main headings are in sanserif.
• On the left hand side are the best chart hits which keeps the audience up to date. This also creates a house style that they have the chart review in each magazine on the contents page.
• The mode of address is informal which relates to the target demographic.
• The name of the magazine appears on the top left of the contents page which helps identify the brand identity.
• There articles include song and album reviews which relate to the genre of pop mainstream genre
• There are also articles about celebrity gossip which connotes that they are aiming the magazine at a younger audience
• There are 77 pages which connotes that the magazine is full of information which would appeal to a wider audience.
• The pictures on the contents page have numbers on them which signifies that they are the main articles.
